Fayette Historic Townsite

On my July 1999 trip to the U.P. I toured the historic site of Fayette on the Garden Peninsula. This was a massive iron smelting operation run by the Jackson Iron Company that started soon after the civil war and ended in 1891. In June 2005 I returned to Fayette to improve the pictures here and to take in a bit of scuba diving. Please note that not all existing structures are pictured (i.e. I didnt forget to put a link in). I may add them on subsequent trips to the park though. I found the area to be very interesting and may include it in future travel plans. Next time may include more interior shots as well.
