Shelton House (hotel) The Shelton House was a combination boarding house and hotel for the Fayette operation. Visitors would stay there as well as single men that worked for the company. The hotel is still undergoing some restorations inside and out. This photo, taken in June 2005 shows work being done to replace the roofing on the porch. As of this writing, there isn't a whole lot to see inside, only two front rooms are period decorated and a third is set up as a sort of presentation room.

rear view of hotelThe wings that extend out the back of the hotel are not original but I dont recall exactly when they were added. Also, this hotel used to have a two story outhouse somewhere behind the building, the second story serviced the second floor of the hotel and was reached via a walkway to a door on the hotel's second floor.
