01-Apr-2001 Doh... so much for the new site. Unfortunately my new job has left me no time to work on the page and my plans to have others helping out didn't work out quite as well as I hoped.

Good news though, Love Hina as been licensed. I guess it was inevitable but I guess this will silence at least some of the non-believers out there. Check out the news over at Anime on DVD. In compliance with the usual fansub regs, and in support of Bandai's future release, Love Hina fansubs have been removed from this site.

I'm still thinking over what to do with this site, whether to try and work something out or just to make a clean break.

22-Jan-2001 Welcome to the new AFI - Anime Fansub Island. Formally known as FEAVL, the site has undergone an overhaul. On AFI we will focus more on introducing interesting new series from Japan and less on covering what is happening on other fansub sites. However, this will still be a feature of AFI, check out the links section for the latest information on what sites are out there.

AFI now has the Love Hina xmas special available for download, although it has been up at other sites for some time now (and xmas is long gone ;) ). Also available is an interesting new series, Now and Then, Here and There. Visit the movie index section to find out more.

A completely new part of AFI is the interactive section where we'll have various voting polls on all sorts of interesting topics. Currently there is a poll relating to Love Hina.

We've received an incredible amount of email over the past month or so, both from those running websites and also visitors to this one. Sadly we've only replied to a few but we appreciate every last one of them. Also thanks to those who have continued to host FTP mirrors over the past month or so, and also those who've hosted mirrors in the past.

We hoped to have more new stuff ready for you guys, including another new series, in time for the grand 'reopening' however a few unexpected problems have come up which is causing some delays. Rather than wait any longer we have decided to release the site as is. Thanks for your support.

20-Nov-2000 We have a new ftp mirror for To Heart and Love Hina thanks to Michael. Give it a go if you're having trouble with MySpace. Also a lot of people seem to be having trouble getting the file LoveHina_05.r05 from MySpace. For some reason this particular file seems to be continuously unavailable. I've now put a copy up on Geocities for download, grab it here.

14-Nov-2000 Very quick update. The link for the MySpace FAQ has been fixed. Please check it out if you're having MySpace problems. The links for the Love Hina realvideo CRC files have also been fixed.

Beanbag has provided some more MySpace Love Hina mirrors for episodes 8, 21-24. However these files aren't the same as AFI's files (found on AFIs MySpace and the ftp mirrors) so they aren't compatible with AFI's episodes.

The description for Super 5 has been updated with what's currently available.

All emails received so far in November have been read and replied to. That still leaves October and part of September. Sorry for being so slack!

10-Nov-2000 Oh dear, oh dear.. The lack of attention this site has been given is shameful. I know.. There are heaps of better, more up to date sites than AFI around now so feel free to visit those. We won't hold it against you :). Excuses? I've been busy. How busy? Put it this way, I still haven't got round to watching 23 and 24 of Love Hina :). So there you go.

What does the future hold? Well there is stuff in the works. First we have a couple of new helpers at AFI, Maestro and his brother. Some of you are probably familar with Maestro as the host for Ftp Mirror 4. In the meantime I've updated the site so emails are directed to Maestro as well as the rest of us. Also Maestro and co are working on a new design for the site which should be good. The current design is not particularly inline with the current site content so we hope to rectify that and make it easier to progress with new areas and content.

Another thing on the way is a 3rd anime up at feavl. To Heart and Love Hina have been a big success and we look forward to being able to promote another great anime. Currently I'm after suggestions so please email me with your ideas. Once I have a few suggestions in the barrel I'll probably do a vote to get an idea of the interest. Just some criteria:

1. No series licensed out side of Japan, fansubs only.
2. Preferably a shoujo or at least shoujo-ish series (not essential but desirable).
3. Preferably a less well known or less popular series. For example, Love Hina would count as a very popular, well known series while To Heart would be a somewhat less popular series (although the show has it's fans of course :) ).
4. A series that is not already widely available on lots of other sites.
5. I need to either already have it or be able to get access to it somewhere. This is probably the most important criteria!
