Update between 12/28/02 and 09/01/02:
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. What a fast year. How fast is 2003? Keep busy and 2003 goes as fast as light speed. The economy remains slow because there is too much uncertainty. Prepare for the worst and prepare for the future.
Fellow anime fans, watch Spirted Away. The music is terrific and the animation is excellent. I watched the movie twice. And I watched Evangelion: Death and Rebirth and End of Evangelion. I can watch the series 10 times and I'm not going to understand 100%. I listened to the commentaries from Death and Rebirth and End and there was information and symbolism I didn't catch.
Here are preventive measures from a co-worker when a wallet or purse is stolen:
Another co-worker introduced Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad series. I recommend to read his first book titled "Rich Dad Poor Dad." Read the book objectively because there are lots of information about the rich, and it's more than real estate. Does anyone have passive income?
During Thanksgiving, my family went to Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. We visited one of my uncle's family and the New Chinatown in San Gabriel. Those who want to hear popular music in the Santa Barbara and Ventura area, listen to 95.1 FM. For Christmas, my family stayed in San Jose and another of my uncle's family visited from Southern California.
I opened an eBay account. I spent hours on eBay during my first visits finding bargains and hard to find items. My first purchase was a Sega Dreamcast video game. I could have done half of my Christmas shopping at eBay.
Looking in 2003, I'm going to re-read XML again and find a book with exercises. When I'm done, I'm going to create a practice web page containing XML and JavaScript. I hope to finish before December 2003.
Other activities in 2003 include increasing my investment knowledge by reading Kiyosaki's Prophecy and take courses at Charles Schwab. I'm researching to purchase a Digital Camera. My next new physical activity is Indoor Wall Climbing. And there is the weekly activities of anime, video games, gym, and relaxing.
Finally, some number fives in 2003. April 2003 is my web page's fifth anniversary. Anime Expo 2003 is my fifth year in a row attending. And July 2003 is my fifth year on the workforce.
Most of the updates are a ton of new links.

Update between 09/01/02 and 05/26/02:
I like to acknowledge Delta Sergeants Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart who were awarded the Medal of Honor for their bravery in the Somilia War. The movie Black Hawk Down is the first movie I watched where I couldn't turn it off in the middle.
"No one gets left behind." --Major General William Garrison.
The last of 2002 is approaching. How fast is the year closing? Costco is selling Halloween candy and Christmas snowmans. When is the economic recovery? I think the recovery begins in 2004 and all my laid-off friends find jobs. Anyone who can take advantage of the slowdown should. I still predict a Double Dip in the economy. The stock market is not at the bottom.
Thank you to the staff and volunteers for running a good Anime Expo 2002 convention. I like to thank con security for helping me recover my sunglasses. Anime Expo 2002 is the 10th anime convention I attended. I don't know if that's good or bad :-) Next year the anime conventions are packed together. June 20-23 is Fanime Con 2003 and July 3-6 is Anime Expo 2003.
I purchased the Neon Genesis Evangelion Perfect Collection. I can't get tired watching the series over and over again. I can't wait to purchase End of Evangelion and Death And Rebirth. At Anime Expo 2002, the DVD promos from the major corporations contained one full sample anime series episode. That's a first for me. For future conventions, it's worth getting the promos.
Here is important information for anime fans. Please don't leave children in the car. A laid-off worker was found guilty of manslaughter for leaving his baby in the car and watched anime in his brother-in-law's house.
Those who live in California, watch out for the California Highway Patrol's white Chevrolet Cameros or Ghosts. Don't underestimate the 300+ horsepower, V8 engines with a 2 inch high siren bar.
I visited Japantown and Musee Mechanique in San Francisco with a couple of friends in August. Due to a shortage on time, the visit to Japantown was brief. I hope I find time to revisit Japantown before December. Musee Mechanique is a museum of arcade games from the early 1900s to today. The museum closes in September and I think the museum relocates at Pier 43.
What are my planned activities for the rest of the year? One is I'm almost done completing the in-class JavaScript exercises. I'm redoing the exercises because I finished reading two JavaScript books. When I'm done, I'm going to learn XML and increase my knowledge in Windows XP.
Another activity is visiting Twin Creeks in Sunnyvale, California. Every Monday during Autumn 2001, I played softball with my co-workers. I like to visit the park and swing a bat at the batting cages one more time. Indirectly related, I like to watch more Monday Night Football. With Al Michaels and John Madden, Monday Night Football should be enjoyable again.
Lots of updates: Anime Expo 2002 pictures, An Anime Fan is An Anime Fan 3.0, added new links and deleted dead links, updated my mythical stock portfolio, photo album includes thumbnails and a new photo at Pacific Bell Park, and the latest resume. There is an addition to the Stories, Lists, Jokes, Tid-Bits page.

Update between 05/26/02 and 02/23/02:
It's approaching the middle of 2002. When is the economy going to recover? It's definitely not in 2002. Is the Economy going to Double Dip? In other words, is the Gross Domestic Product going negative like in the 4th Quarter 2001? In my opinion, the answer is yes--there is a good chance. What's driving the economy today? Consumer spending and housing.
2002 has been a fast year. The exception is the month of March. March went by really slow. April and May were really fast. Perhaps, 2002 should go by fast because many of us want the economy to recover and to create opportunities.
For the last six months, I am self-teaching myself JavaScript. I read a book and I'm doing simple exercises. I recently took a course on JavaScript. I plan to start learning XML in June.
Between late April and May, I attended a San Francisco Giants game. The game I attended Barry Bonds hit two home runs into McCovey Cove. I experienced my first Swedish Massage. And I attended Fanime Con 2002. Thank you to the staff and volunteers for running a good convention.
Looking ahead, there is Anime Expo 2002 Thursday July 4 to Sunday July 7. There is a possibility of a weekend trip to Santa Barbara. And I plan to watch Star Wars Episode II.
I finally finished watching Cowboy Bebop. That's a good series. I also watched Ah! My Goddess. And I'm starting to watch Love Hina.
The updates include pictures from Fanime Con 2002 located in the Anime Gallery with thumbnails. The Mythical Stock Portfolio is updated. (Are we finally making money?) There are more links, more Anime CDs, and two new additions in the Stories, Lists, Jokes, Tid-Bits page.
To view past updates, visit Update Archives. The next update is in August. Thank you for visiting my web page.
Update between 02/23/02 and 09/15/01:
(Before I begin, I want to inform the changes for the Update. The past Updates were shorten because the Updates were boring and long. On September 15, 2001, I devoted the Update page to September 11, 2001. Starting now, I archieve my Updates which can be seen at Update Archives and the Update takes the entire area. It's O.K. to skip and view the web pages for anyone who finds the Update boring. The links to the web pages are on the left.)
Where should I start? It's been a long time since the last update. The year 2001 went really fast. The year was interesting and unforgettable. For me, there were more down days than up days; however, I learned a lot from the down days. Perhaps, that's a consolation.
2001 was a year I never rested. The economy was declared in a recession retroactive to March. I did a ton of activities including Fanime Con, Anime Expo, Reno, and San Diego during the Spring and Summer. I played softball in the Fall. I injured my left eye when I misjudged a fly ball. I stopped playing role-playing games indefinitely. I attended my first Golden State Warriors basketball game in December. And I never got sick in 2001 which is a record.
Unfortunately, the beginning of 2002 I have been resting in bed. I was sick with bronchitis in January and the flu in February. I have watched my expenses since Christmas. When is the economcy going to turn around? In my opinion, wait for at least 2003.
Talking fun activities, I watched Saber Marionette J. That's a good series. During Christmas, I purchased the Cowboy Bebop DVD box set. How many episodes did I watched? As of the update, I watched five episodes. How sad. (By the way, I'm sure many anime fans know AD Vision announced a Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD box set.) As for video games, I purchased a GameBoy Advanced and cheap Sega Dreamcast games including Evolution: The World of Sacred Device. I know the video game is one of the less well known RPG game, but it's the first RPG game I played. And for exercise, I now go to the gym at nights because there are fewer people.
What are the web page updates? September 11, 2001 and PC 101 are the new web pages. The major updates include correcting the errors for the Sailor Moon RPG modified combat rules, the First Aid Kit is easier to read, minor revision for An Anime Fan is an Anime Fan, and new images. There are more links in the links pages. The mythical stock portfolio is updated (and the portfolio went up).
To repeat, to view past updates, visit Update Archives. The next update is after Fanime Con 2002. Thank you for visiting my web page.
Update between 09/15/01 and 07/22/01:
Visit September 11, 2001.
Update between 07/22/01 and 04/22/01:
Thank you to the people of Anime Expo 2001 who ran their 10th anniversary convention. I enjoyed all four days and there was plently of activities. Other summer activities include Reno, San Diego, and playing my final role-playing games as one of us moves to Washington in September.
I mentioned 2001 is a very fast year. The year slowed in late April and May, but when summer started, it went as fast as light speed. I forecast the economy to pick up speed beginning in 2002. It's time to prepare for next year, but enjoy the summer and take advantage of the slowdown.
There are minor updates to my web page. Remember to drink water during the hot days and find time to read a book. Thank you for visiting my web page. The next scheduled update is before Christmas.
Update between 04/22/01 and 01/28/01:
2001 is a very fast year so far. It's like my last update was yesterday. As the middle of 2001 approaches, what is the outlook? The economy is slowing down, but I don't think we are in a recession. Also, the San Jose Sharks lost a disappointing game 6 against the St. Louis Blues.
Thank you to the people of Fanime Con 2001 who ran a good convention. All your hard work is worth it. I did not spend a lot of money which is good, but for Anime Expo 2001, uh oh.
Major changes and new additions are completed including a new home page, an Anime Gallery, new pictures, more links, and an improved site map. I anticipate my next update before July. Thank you for visiting my web page.
Update between 01/28/01 and 12/06/00:
Happy New Year. Starting now, the updates are going to be shorter. I notice the updates are taking lots of room on my home page. If anyone wants to skip the updates, click the link above.
So far, everything is going pretty well. No diasters, except for the rolling blackouts. Super Bowl XXXV is today. There are minor edits today, but the next update after Fanime Con 2001 (March 30-April 1), there are going to be major changes and new additions.
Thank you for visiting my web page.
Update between 12/06/00 and 09/04/00:
Happy holidays. Mathematically speaking, 2001 is the millennium. I'm looking forward to 2001 to be an exciting year. 2000 was a so-so year. The year went by really fast, and I had a lot of first experiences such as attending my first 49ers game and tasting Japanese curry.
Another first was running a Salior Moon Role Playing Game (RPG). After two years having the book, I finally ran my first (and most likely only) Sailor Moon adventure. Anyone interested in my first adventure and my modified combat rules, please visit the Sailor Moon RPG.
Major editing are all my links, Anime Fan, and my site map. The new stuff are Rents in Silicon Valley, Technology Links page, and two new favorite lists including exercepts from Jerry Seinfeld's book SeinLanguage.
Thank you for visiting my web page. My next update is sometime in February or March 2001.
Update between 09/04/00 and 07/07/00:
I'm probably one of the few people who is glad Summer 2000 is over. Minor back pain, crappy vacation and being sick at least a month can ruin anyone's summer. My minor back pain was gone before Anime Expo 2000, there is 2001 for Anime Expo, and I fully recovered my two for one sickess consisting of a sinus infection and Broncitus. I'm coming back to my normal, daily routine. (Normal?!?)
My web page has new stuff. More links, updated Resume, new Top Ten, more Anime CDs, a easier Site Map to navigate, the latest to my Mythical Stock Portfolio, and a new addition to the Lists. New stuff are Tandem Chess and the housing market in Silicon Valley (anyone have $500,000 for a 2,000 square feet home or $10,000 a month for an apartment?).
Yes (and finally), I'm going to re-read the Sailor Moon RPG. I don't know if I'm ready to run in Fall 2000, but any tips and suggestions on running the Sailor Moon RPG I share the information on my web page. Also, I'm going to continue Visual Basic.
The next update is going to be in December 2000. Thank you for visiting. I hope everyone has a great Fall 2000 leading to the new Millennium.
What I have done between 07/07/00 and 05/28/00:
I got sick after returning from Anime Expo 2000. I'm blaming the unseasonally cold temperature for my sickness because I left the windows fully opened such that I got used to the open windows when the weather at night was warm. What a vacation, and this is my first long vacation after college. (I broke a personal record of not getting sick for 14 months.)
The Anime Expo 2000 staff did a good job despite Disneyland shutting down the midnight video rooms and, essentially, giving the staff a hard time to run a good convention. I hope Anime Expo 2001 is back at the Anaheim Hilton where the facilities are bigger and not spread out. Perhaps, the programming can improve. Anyone who constantly complained about Anime Expo 2000, don't attend next year. Go to the anime convention in Baltimore, Mayland.
Because of my sickness, there are no major additions and updates. The latest additions are two new lists and more links. The minor edits are Version 1.1 of Anime Fan is an Anime Fan and my Mytical Stock Portfolio. The next update I'm going to include the housing situation in Silicon Valley and how to play four player chess. Thank you for visiting my web page.
What I have done between 05/28/00 and 04/24/00:
Anime Expo 2000 takes place June 30, 2000 to July 3, 2000. The week of July 3, 2000 is my first long vacation from work rather than the one day and two days I take off in the past.
To move forward in life, people must swallow the hurt, accept things, and move on when people experience pain physically, mentally, and emotionally. It's not easy, not quick, but it's a must if people want to live life.
There are minor updates to some of my pages including more links, more lists, and a Card Captor Sakura update. Thank you for visitng my web page. Be patient, and go for the long run.
What I have done between 04/24/00 and 03/02/00:
My web page. New: Stories I wrote improving my writing, new lists and a dictionary, and Silicon Valley. Major Edits: Top Ten, Anime Links. Minor Edits: Quotes, Stock Portfolio.
Outside my web page. I want to finish Visual Basic as soon as possible. Like many others and some people who know Visual Basic, they experienced periods of boredom and "not feeling like" studying. That makes me feel better because I have experience those. I'm on Chapter 8 for about a month. As for work, it's going. Nothing really new. And I got a chance to rollerblade a couple of times in the past month.
I have not forgotten the Sailor Moon RPG. As it looks, the Sailor Moon RPG may start in Fall 2000. Those who want to play, I strongly suggest to find someone else or start a group.
Finally finally, please remember to make the best out of every situation in life. Thank you for visiting my web page.
What I have done between 03/02/00 and 02/20/00:
Two quick announcements for anime fans. First, Fanime Con 2000 was a great event. I thank Fanime Con board of directors, staff, and the volunteers for a good convention. And second, Silicon Valley's KTEH Public Television Channel 54 is premiering Neon Genesis Evangelion beginning Sunday March 5 at 9:00 P.M. and Ranma 1/2: The Movie Big Trouble in Nekonron, China Sunday March 12 at 9:30 P.M. Urusei Yatsura resumes Sunday March 26 at 9:30 P.M.
What I have done between 02/20/00 and 12/27/99:
Happy belated New Year and Happy belated Chinese New Year--The Year of the Dragon. Everyone survivied the Y2K scare.
Quickly speaking: Fanime Con 2000 takes place at the Santa Clara Convention Center and Westin Hotel Thursday February 24, 2000 to Sunday February 27, 2000. I hope to start preparing the Sailor Moon RPG in Summer 2000. Visual Basic self-training is slow, but I'm proceeding. Work is going O.K. My next big feature for my web page is Living in Silicon Valley (whenever it comes I don't know). Otherwise, I'm doing all right, and the updates are minor and I included a site map.
What I have deon between 12/27/99 and 08/29/99:
Update is unavailable.
What I have done between 08/29/99 and 08/14/99:
It seems I'm updating my web page constantly which can be good or can be bad; fortunately, the latest updates does not take lots of time. Otherwise, it is work and finding time to relax. The last two work weeks were demanding. I'm really tired when I get home. I want to relax and do easy stuff.
Minor ending and adding new content to the links page.
What I have done between 08/14/99 and 06/26/99:
Anime Expo '99 was great. The convention was worth my vacation time. With the exception of the registration line, I enjoyed the convention including the masquerade, dealers room, video rooms, and meeting my anime friends. I spent lots of money, but I did not spend my entire budget.
The Sailor Moon RPG is on hold. In other words, wait till next century. I am very sorry to those who wanted to play the Sailor Moon RPG. (The Sailor Moon RPG I'm running is NOT on-line.) The factors are many which include work, work, training, work, family obligations, anime, daily activities, and weekly activities. I was close such that I have character sheets and the first adventures outlines, but not close enough.
Speaking of RPG, I have played very little in the past three months. Very unfortunate. It seems my friends who were veterans at RPG are correct. I denied when my friends told me I'm going to play less RPG when I graduate college. I did not want to admit because I enjoyed RPG, but when an RPG player has new responsibilities and new interests, RPG is set aside. In all honestly, finding time for me to play RPG is hard; for example, I needed one month to update my web page. Regarding the Sailor Moon, I can definitey say as long as I am a Sailor Moon Fan, I remember the Sailor Moon RPG.
My Microsoft Access self-training and learning Microsoft Access is progressing well. I have took two training courses, and there is a possibility I am going to take more training courses in November. Anyone planning a career in databases, research, or the like I suggest one learns basic Microsoft Access. Knowing Access can open doors.
There was a major change in my Research Department. My supervisor who hired me at my first job and at my current job resigned again. The resignation is permanent such that he and his family lives in Australia. Currently, the Research Department has its work cut out, but projects, weekly duties, and monthly duties are being completed with highest effort.
Thank you for waiting for my web page update. I added new pages such as a First Ait Kit, edited many web pages, and renamed many web pages. The Links Page is updated and easier to use. Please note the graphics has not change--well, there was really no graphics; however, some pictures were deleted which were minor. I am going to make minor changes in the next two to three weeks which includes spelling errors and updates. Enjoy.
What I have done between 06/26/99 and 05/16/99:
Anime Expo '99 takes place July 16, 1999 through July 18, 1999 at Anaheim, California. This is my first time attending. And this is my first vacation from my career. The next update is after Anime Expo '99.
Nothing really has happened to me. I recovered from my illness. I am going to work and putting 40 hours of hard work and experience. The weekends are relaxing.
Otherwise, I'm trying to find time finishing the Sailor Moon RPG, a slow progress. The second prototype character sheets are complete. I need to complete the combat rules and the first adventures.
The latest updates are new links, updating my mythical stock portfolio, a new top ten list, and updating the Sailor Moon RPG.
What I have done between 05/16/99 and 03/02/99:
Update is unavailable.
What I have done between 03/02/99 and 12/14/98:
Christmas Vacation was great. It was a time off from work and other daily activities; unfortunately I did not update my web page. I did all my Christmas Shopping on 12/18/98. I spent lots of money and I actually enjoyed the shopping--given I spent lots for myself.
I like rainy days. My area received quality rainy days, but not quantity rainy days. I had days where I did not wear a jacket and nights I did not use my heavy blanket.
My current activities have remained consistent: watching anime, gym at least twice a week, read books and newspapers, playing role-playing games, keeping up with the Economy, and work. In the next three months I want to do the following: watch a couple of movies, visit Nickle City, update my web page more often, play Sailor Moon Role Playing Game, read more books, rollerblade, and learn how to play X-Men characters and Mavel characters in X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Mavel vs. Street Fighter, respectively. The sad part is I don't think I can accomplish all of those soon. I wish I had more time for myself.
I accepted a new position at Colliers International. Colliers International is a rival commercial real estate firm with Grubb & Ellis (my last job) and other commercial real estate firms, especially in Silicon Valley. I was hired by my former supervisor who hired me at Grubb & Ellis and left Grubb & Ellis in November 1998. The new position has better growth potential, shorter commute, higher salary, and better working environment. In short, it's a better job. I hope I do well.
Finally, my web page. The new stuff are plently for which I hope the web surfer enjoys. I included more pictures, more pages, additional links and easier to browse links, additional Economics, a photo album, more lists, and much more. I edit content and updated my stock portfolio. Graphics, other html goodies I need to learn, additioal content, and additional pages are needed to jazz up my web page. In the meantime enjoy my web page and look for minor changes.
First Update:
I became interested in creating my own web page after learning Microsoft's Powerpoint and knowing HTML adds technical background enhancing my resume. I signed up on www.geocities.com where anyone can create a web page free.
Please listen to a piano piece as the surfer looks at my web page index. The piano music lasts about two minutes. Credit and source: www-old.ircam.fr/sons/archives/MIDI/.
