This is the only game from the LOZ series to hit the SNES. The plot is good, but LOZ1-2 players will notice that it seems LOZ3 takes on it's own plot. (For example, instead of three Triforces of Wisdom, Power, and Courage, the three Triforces are combined into one.) This game is probably Shigeru Miyamato's (Mario, Zelda, and Star Fox creator) best Zelda game to date. This is not your average "save the princess" game.
Once, long ago, there was the Golden Land. This land was said to possess the Triforce. The Triforce grants wishes to he who touches it. It cannot determine between the wishes of good and evil, it merely grants them. Despite many attempts, though, nobody had found the Triforce.
That was, until a gang of thieves skilled in the black arts stumbled into the Golden Land by accident. Their leader was a man named Ganondorf Dragmire (alias Mandrag Ganon, meaning Ganon of the Enchanted Thieves). Ganon found the Triforce and fought past his own men to get it. He touched the Triforce and it asked him for his wish...
It is not known what Ganon asked for, but evil began to flow from the Golden Land and greedy men were drawn there and became member's of Ganon's army. The land of Hyrule was struck with many disasters.
Suspecting that Ganon's power was based upon the Triforce, the Hyrulians made a sword that could repel even the Triforce's power, named the Master Sword. However, it was so powerful that only a person that was pure of heart and strong of body could use it. Meanwhile, Ganon's army attacked Hyrule and it's castle. The Knights of Hyrule fought bravely, but many died. Hyrule still won, though, with the King's Seven Wise Men sealing the gate, and imprisoning Ganon in the Golden Land.
Centuries afterward, the Imprisoning War's memories faded. This lack of knowledge made the people suprised from the new pestilence and drought that hit Hyrule. The King ordered an investigation of the Dark World which the Golden Lands was now known as, but the seal of the Wise Men was still in effect. He offered a reward for anyone who could find the source of these disasters.
And so came a stranger named Agahnim who rid of the disasters with a form of magic none of them had ever seen. For that, the King bestoed upon Agahnim the position of chief advisor and heir to the Wise Men. But now, lately, tales have roamed around about how Agahnim now rules the country with his magic and about strange magical experiments in the castle at night.
During the night, Princess Zelda telepathically calls you, Link, and tells you she has been kidnapped, and it's up to you to save her. On your adventure you will find out more about the Seven Maidens kidnapped to open the gate to the Dark World, as well as Agahnim's intentions. Link must find the Master Sword to destroy Agahnim, Ganon, and save the Seven Maidens!
+ Many quests to solve and optional items to get! Interesting and mind-perplexing puzzles. Interesting plot. Normal battles flow right into the gameplay.
- Some players may get confused, with the inconsistancy of plots from the first two Zeldas' to this one. Somewhat easy to get stuck. Game follows plot loosely. Little character development.

What do I say? A good SNES game for all Adventure/RPGers. You should buy this; your local store probably holds the best seller version.
