Quest for Glory II

Trial By Fire

This sequel to Quest for Glory I (as well as the rest of the Quest for Glories) lets you either start a new character, or import your character from QFG1. This sequel has great new ideas that adds to the gameplay.

After becoming "Hero of Spielburg" and returning Abdulla Doo his fortune, you travel by magic carpet with him and your Katta friends to the desert land of Shapeir where they need help. In this game, the Emir of Raseir is missing, and a new (evil) one has taken his place. First you must fight off the elementals attacking the city. Then you must travel by caravan to Raseir. In Raseir you are taken to the prison, but you escape. The evil Ad Avis puts you in a trance and has you get the statue of Iblis. Iblis is a Djinn that seeks to destroy the world. But this can only happen every thousand years and a day, and the door can only be opened by a certain Hero. You must stop Ad Avis from summoning Iblis and destroy him!

+ Ability to import from QFG1. Many different ways to solve puzzles. Realistic (disregarding the fantasy element), examples: items have weight, you can only hold a certain amount of weight, etc. Time changes from day to night. "Magic Map" lets you teleport to places you have already been to automatically. Apperance of Groucho and Chico Marx. Full of jokes. If honorable (and fighter), then you turn to a special Paladin job at the end of the game to import into QFG3.

- Battles can be awkward. A few glitches. Lack of Growth pool for imported characters. Somewhat easy to get stuck.

What do I say? People who have a hard time with Zelda or Lufia should leave this alone (unless you want to get a walkthru). You can get these four as an anthology, so buy that to get the best price.
