I've met tons of people who think that Sailor Moon R stands for Sailor Moon Relationship. R actually stands for Return (Sailor Moon the Return), but I am aware that sailor moon has a lot of relationship related things going on.
Lest us begin with the most complicated relationship first ---
Serena and Darien met on pretty
bad terms (he made fun of a 31 that she got on an exam) so she really didn't
like him from the get-go. He, however felt close to her. They arugued and
whined and complained at each other, like most 14 year old girls act twards
that 24 year old guy (yes, they are a full decade apart) that they've got a
crush on. The wierd thing was that he liked her back. Except when darien
was going out with Raye, aka Sailor mars. They went
out for a while, and the specs on their relationship are on this page.
According to what went on in the silver melenia (a time long ago in a place
far away), Serena was the the Princess of the Moon and Darien was the
Prince of the Earth. They fell in love, and were to be married, but when
their love was at it's peak Darien was whisked away by the evil Queen Beryl,
and they never saw each other again, unitll the dawn of the new melenia.
So, getting back to the future, When they were fighting side by side, Serena
and Dairen revealed to one another that they were really Sailor Moon and
Tuxedo Mask, respectivlly. So Serena liked darien even more because "Crabby
old darien is my dream hunk? This'll take some getting used to!" They
started going out, and they fell in love, then they broke up because Darien
turned evil, and then they got back together when she helped him get his
good memory back, then they broke up again, because dairen had a bad dream
saying that he should stay away from serena because it could save her life.
In the manga they got married, and they eventually
do grow up and have (yuk) Rini, Chibi Usa, thier daughter.Well, the relationship between Raye and Darien was quite short. Raye went out with dairen for a short period of time prior to his relationship with serena. She had a huge crush on him, and unlike serena (who really did like him at the time...) raye took initive and asked Darien out. She made him go to a doll show, take her to the mall, and pretty much ruled his world. Not too bad for a 14 year old going out with a 24 year old.
Well Ami is naturally shy and she didn't really say anything regarding Greg to anyone when she first met him. He's a nerd just like she is and she totally liked him, and all the sailor scouts could tell. So because of that, they picked on her untill she told Greg that she liked him and made him ask her out. Their realtionship is pretty steady now.
Mina has the worst time with relationships and love than any other charecter in the sailor moon anime. Mina may be an actress and an international star, but she just can't seem to find mister right, or even a mister, for that matter. See, mina has fallen for almost every auxiluary sailor scout, sailor starlight or whatever looks like a boy. Artimis, her gardian cat, often takes light to this and makes fun of her. In the American anime he bugged her about not having a boyfreind at all one day when she was with Lita. Poor Mina. Lita isn't much better....
The Outer senshi are a difficult bunch.... They're easy to love and almost just as easy to leave.
The four outer senshi are almost as love- lorn as the rest of the sailor scouts.
Haruka and Michiru, also known as sailor Uranus and Neptune, respectivly, are the quota lesbians of this anime. I think their relationship, if you can honestly call it that (they don't really go out) is actually very sweet and romantic, possibly the most romantic on the show. See, Hakura is the super duper boyish lady who pretty much looks like a really cute boy. So much in fact that Mina (sailor venus)almost went out with her, thinking that Haruka was a boy. Haruka is very flirty with girls and enjoys watching them squirm when they find out that she's a girl. Michiru, however is very elegant and extremely feminine. She's obviously attracted to Haruka, and she flirts with her, often. I think they may actually be going out because they often make refrences to goings on of an intamate relationship and Michiru often gets very annoyed when Haruka flirts with other women.
