In 1994, he became an actor and appeared in TV Dramas "Boku-no Shushoku" and "Tokyo Daigaku Monogatari". In 1995, by playing a leading role in the drama, "Hoshi no Kinka". He was awarded "Golden Arrow Hoso Shinjin-sho" 
(Golden Arrow Award for the best new actor).  

Although most of his role are good-looking young men, he has acted as cool adult man in TV dramas also. Through the drama "Long Vacation", he showed a different image and proved himself was really capable as an actor. 

Yutaka is also very active in TV commercials, like "Medalist", "Kappa Ebisen", "Dydo Coffee", "NEC", "Shiseido" and so on. In addition, in the book "Takenouchi Yutaka Outdoor Sweater: Sugoku Kantan Kare-no Sweater" (a book which tells how to knit sweaters for boyfriends easily). He introduced sweaters to readers by modeling them in the book.
