Hiei of Yu Yu Hakusho®

  Yes, Hiei is this cute character you see on the left. Well, he doesn't really wear casual clothes that often & I think he doesn't even like wearing casual clothes at all.

For a brief introduction about this character, Hiei is a fire demon straight out of the comic book series, Yu Yu Hakusho. His family were all ice demons, so when his mother gave birth to him, the ice demons all thought it was a bad omen & forced his mother to either abandon him or kill him. As the Ice Kingdom floated in the air, his mother threw him down. Fortunately, he survived.

In Makai, the demon world, it is the survival of the fittest for Hiei. His childhood was a struggle for survival. He had someone implant a third eye on his forehead so as to increase his powers & eventually, he manages to master this extremely powerful skill & gets a black dragon 'tattoed' on his arm in the process. Somewhere along the way, he meets Kurama, a silver-haired fox-spirit also known as a Youko. Kurama then becomes his best friend. Hiei also meets Yusuke & Kuwabara & the four of them form a team to battle against evil forces.

Well, to really get to know more about Hiei's character, you'll have to start reading the Yu Yu Hakusho comic series.

What I like about Hiei? He's the coolest of all my favourite characters. He doesn't speak much & is very cynical & sarcastic at times. His main dislike seems to be ningens or rather, humans. He constantly craves for power. I guess this might be due to those hard battles for survival in Makai...

His favourite colour seems to be black as he is always wearing black clothes. Yeah, his clothes are always something like the kind he wears in this picture. But then, he has rather good fashion sense. . .

Hiei isn't the kind of person to go around showing everyone the emotional side of him. In fact, if he ever shows concern for somebody, he would do it quietly & in the background. However, few people ever show concern for Hiei, probably because of his cynical character. The people ever to show real concern for Hiei seem to be only Kurama & Yukina.

About Kurama & Hiei. . . Kurama is the only person that understands Hiei best. They are seen to be together most times & are extremely close friends. Let's just say this, Kurama would not go to a party unless Hiei is going too. But then, given Hiei's character, they probably wouldn't be seen much at parties anyway.

Kurama & Hiei are so close to each other that most people think they are gays. Strictly speaking, I don't see them performing anything that is homosexual in particular. I would rather, call them close friends that know a lot about each other's thoughts & behaviour. Poor Hiei, being mistaken for a gay...*sob!*
