The Children Part 1

Hello all, and welcome to my Eva profiles. This page contains profiles on each of the children, Shinji, Asuka and Rei. Each of these children played a very important role in the Eva series, the fact of the matter is, if it wasn't for these brave children who piloted the dreadfull Eva's this series would never had been possiable. "Sure it could have." You say? "They could have just gotten different pilots." Sure they could have, but would you really want to see someone else piloting Eva-01? Or someone else drool over Kaji? I didn't think so.

What can I say about Shinji. He's original, I'll give him that. But nevertheless, he is the best Evangelion pilot around. I dont know how many times he came to Asuka's rescue during the series, you'd think she would adore him. But it just dosen't work that way for Shinji. You see, Shinji didn't even want to pilot the Evagelion in the beginning, he hated his father for making him do it. But soon after a couple victories over the dreadful angels he discoverd people would respect and admire him for piloting the Eva, but most of all he wanted his father to see that he was worth something. He still didn't like it much though. I beleve Shinji is on of the most f@#ked up characters in anime today. But he's still really cool!

In my opinion Asuka is one of the most important characters in the series. If it wasn't for Asuka, Evangelion just wouldent be the same. Then again I could say that about any of the characters(excluding Kaouru). She is born of Japanese and German blood and was raised in the United States as a U.S. citizen. Later she was brought to Tokyo-3 as the official pilot of Eva Unit-02 to help defend against the threat known as the "Angels." Asuka my be beautiful, intellegent, and downright hillarious, but she is also just as messed up as Shinji. Asuka has got to be one of the best characters ever created in the world of anime. Shes defenetly one of my tops!

Rei is indeed "strange." Im not quite sure how it works but Rei says less than anyone else in the series, and gets tons of credit for it. I just dont get it. Oh well, I guess you cant blame her. I mean just look at her, you cant hate a face like that! I never quite understood Rei for the first like 20 episodes, but things started clearing up twords the end of the series. Still, Rei is one of the most complicated characters in the history of anime and I think that is the real reason so many people love Rei. Uniqueness is a rare thing these days and Rei Ayanami clenches that uniqueness with an iron fist. All hail the "Motherless Child!"
