Dialogue Changes
OZ soldier: "That's overkill! Demolishing an entire base just to kill off a few Mobile Suits?"--"Kill off" became "destroy." I find it interesting how "kill off" is changed but "overkill" isn't...and I didn't even know you could kill machines in the first place :P So, in this case, I say "destroy" actually works better.
Sally, to Heero: "OZ is planning to blow the entire base apart in order to kill you Gundam pilots."--"Kill" became "destroy."
Treize, to Lady Une: "Anybody's capable of killing anyone."--"Killing anyone" was changed to "destruction." Well, even if it's just another form of the word "destroy," it actually sounds kind of cool ^_^
Lady Une, to Trowa: "Die!"--This was changed to "time's up!" Ahh, yes, it's more of the "die can't be used if it's used in a threatening way" idea :P
Lady Une: "I never knew Gundams were so powerful...I want him dead."--"I want him dead" became "destroy him." Same comment as above :P
Wufei: "Kill me. If you don't kill me right now, I'll keep on coming back until I get you, Treize."--Both times in this quote, "kill" was changed to "stop."
Cuts
3 sec.: Man falling down after Zechs shoots him. I think this is kind of a silly cut. I mean, it's still obvious that Zechs shot the guy, so what's so bad about seeing his body fall over? I guess it's OK to shoot people, but not OK to acknowledge the fact that the shot actually hurts or kills them :P
In General
My comment on this episode has to do with how obvious it is that these dubbers are really trying to make this dub as close to the original version as possible. I'm talking about how they still have Wufei calling his Gundam "Nataku." Why is this significant? Because his Gundam's name is Shenlong (Heh heh, grant me my wish, bitch!), and if you've only seen the TV series, you would have no idea why he doesn't call his Gundam by it's actual name. The reason is given in the prequel comic for the series, Episode Zero, which tells a story about each of the Gundam boys' (Oh, and Relena's, too :P) past. The point I'm trying to make is that they could have easily changed Wufei's dialogue so that he never mentions the name Nataku because, if you've never read Episode Zero, it doesn't make any sense for him to call his Gundam a different name. So, bravo, BEI. You've kept something in the series that could have easily been changed.
