The talented bassist with "a bit of a hyper streak"
You'd be surprised at how little info there is about Robert Sledge hanging around. So far, this is pretty much all I have. I read somewhere that he was trying to keep his life pretty private. He sure is doing a good job! Anyway, this is what I know...
Robert Ewell Sledge was born on March 9, 1968. He grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was in a band called Toxic Popsicle. Rob recently bought a house in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Useless trivia and Rob tidbits:
- Rob has a studio in his house.
- In the liner notes of TUBORM, the people who eat doo-doo on film are thanked. This is Rob's doing.
- Rob is probably the most computer literate of the group.
- Rob owns about thirty-five pairs of shoes.
- Rob wrote "Birds." (Is this true?)
- Rob says a pick "blends better with the piano."
- Rob wanted to be a marine biologist when he was young, but he realized you had to be really smart to do that.
- Rob plays bass and does some backing vocals for a few tracks on the Gladhands' album La Di Da.
- Rob decribes "Selfless, Cold and Composed" as being "really relaxing to play."
- Robert can play drums, guitar, trumpet, and piano, as well as bass.
- He also appears on Wow and Flutter (Gladhands).
- Rob helped with the cover art for NBP.
- Robert once told a German interviewer that he liked to build lamps.
- Rob has a brother.
- Rob thinks "One Angry Dwarf" best describes Ben Folds Five.
- Rob says his favorite board games are Boggle and Scrabble.
- Rob was in a band called Lex Luther.
