My name is John Peter Haliburton and I was born in St. John's, Newfoundland on December 7, 1963. When I was three years old the family moved to Lewisporte in the north, central part of the province. It remains our hometown even though we have spent a lot of years in other places such as Toronto, ON and Mount Pearl, NF. My father was John P. Haliburton and my mother is Margaret Louise (nee. Wells) Haliburton.

At age 21 I married Roxanne S. J. Nichol of Lewisporte in a ceremony at Scarborough, ON that took place on November 23, 1985. Not too long afterwards my first child was born, Saphyre Annie Margaret Haliburton. Four years later our second child came along, John Parker Haliburton. Both are now in school and are doing very well.

You may have noticed a trend here. There have been five John P. Haliburtons in a row. It was my great-grandfather who moved to Newfoundland from Baddeck, Nova Scotia. The first three John P.'s were called by their first name. The latest two go by their middle names, Peter and Parker (any reference to Spiderman® was truly accidental). We are the only family in the province, I am aware of, bearing the Haliburton name; a total of five people.

After spending years alternating between work and school, trying to find my place in the world, I stumpled into my own business. It started part-time selling computer systems with a friend. After losing my full-time job, the computer sales went full-time and we moved into some office space. While my businesses have changed, I have been self-employed for the past 6 years.

Right now I use the title "Computer Specialist" for myself. Through Haliburton Enterprises I provide computer related services to home and business. This takes place in or near Lewisporte, but I am willing to travel further - for an extra fee. In September of 1997 I became associated with High Seas Yacht Brokers. My wife and I have a company between us called RSP Marketing. It is an interactive distribution business, and an opportunity like none other we have explored. We would highly recommend it to anyone. If you have any questions about the concept, we will try to answer them.

I am very fond of the water and spend a lot of my spare time boating. During the summer of 1997 I took sailing lessons. That has proved to be addictive. There is something about harnessing the wind and moving almost silently through the water.
