Copper Harbor Area Page 2

The Copper Harbor Lighthouse, seen on a not so great day. This was taken on the boat on the way out to the light. On the way back the waves on the harbor were so bad that the captain said he wasnt going out again for a while.

Close-up shot of the Copperharbor lighthouse. This is one of the oldest lighthouse locations on the Great Lakes. This is the second lighthouse though. The original was built so badly that it had to be replaced after only a couple years.

While waiting for the return boat that would take us back from the lighthouse I snapped this picture of what I thought was an interesting rock formation. Rocks like these lie just below the surface at the entrance to the harbor, which made a lighthouse in this location essential for shipping back in the old mining days.

The next three photos are taken at various points along Silver Falls, a cute little waterfall right next to M-26 and the western access road up Brockway Mountain.
