Burrows deep underground in arid locations far from water.  It only emerges to hunt for food.

These Pokémon are only found in the Blue version of the game.  They are the trade off of Ekans which are found in the same areas but only in the Red game.   This Pokémon is kind of cool looking but I never have used mine.  It's name is Dirt Bag, after the mole character from TMNT.  It evolves into Sandslash.
