It's genetic code is irregular.  It may mutate if it is exposed to radiation from element stones.

It evolves into Flareon with a Fire stone, Jolteon with a Thunder stone and Vapereon with a Water stone.  It is found in the secter room of the Game Freak building of Celadon City.
