Pokemon Evolution
While most Pokemon evolve through normal means, they reach a certain level they evolve, others evolve only through special means. This is a list of Pokemon that evolve through less than conventional methods, plus a list of Pokemon that don't evolve at all.
Four Pokemon must be traded to another game pack in order to evolve. They are:
Kaabra to Alakazam
Graveler to Golem
Machoke to Machamp
Haunter to Genger
I sear once I ran into a Genger in the haunter house but the Pokemon I was using to fight the ghost Pokemon was too powerful and killed it before I could catch it. I have never run into one again howerver so it may have been my imagination.
Stone Evolution
Some Pokemon evolve when combined with sones. Most of these stones can be bought in Celadon City. There are 2 easy to find moon stones int he game. There are also at least 2 hidden ones. In Cinnabar Mansion, when you first enter, go up the right pillars and hit A while facing each one, one time you will get a Moon Stone. In Mt. Moon, right before the Pokemaniac with the fossils, on the right there is a little 4x1 square hall that is a dead end. Walk to the end and press A for a Moon Stone. The 2 hidden moon stone locations were submitted by Scytherlover. He also says there is a fifth moon stone somewhere. So here are the Pokemon using stones and what type they use.
