Future GPX Cyber Formula

Future GPX Cyber Formula is a racing show that was first on TV-1991 with 37 shows, then there was three OVA's in the 'Cyber Formula double one' series done in 92-93. These were followed by 8 more OVA's in the "zero" series in 94-95. The most current is the New Century GPX Cyber Formula Saga...8 ova's released in 96-97. It is not well known in the states for it has never been translated. Only the soundtracks are available over here. The art is done by Mutsumi Imomata, also know for her works Windaria and Weathering Continent. The focus of the story is mainly on the 14 year old Hayoto Kazami as he racing in the GPX world race. But there is also romance as well as the racing with the rivals of Hayoto and Karl Lichter von Randoll fighter each other on and off the track. And the female characters have some roles as well as the chief mechanic for team Sugo is a female.

If these cels make you wonder about the series at all I have also included some Cyber Formula links. And I am ALWAYS looking for Cyber Formula cels! Note the later 'saga' cels show the aging of the younger characters. Hayoto, Karl and Asuka look older. I don't have a 'saga' cel of Karl yet, but I hope I will soon.

1999 news: The newest Cyber Formula OVA series has started called SIN. I believe it will focus on Bleed Kaga this time around. I saw that it made it to #3 on the charts in Japan.

Also a link to the character designs for SIN. The opening picture is from Saga if you want to compare my opening picture, double one, to the Saga character designs.
