Hino Rei lives at Hikawa Jinjo with her grandpa. She is in traning to become a Shinto Priestess. The only thing she knows right know is to ward off evil spirts. At the temple she has many duties and not much time for many other things, but that changes. One day Usagi, Naru, and friend went to the shrine to get some good luck charms. When they got there, a little old man that worked there came up to them told them they were cut and asked if they would like to work there. Then Rei came and scolded her Grandpa telling him to leave them alone. Then Rei felt some evil force near and she took out an anti-evil sign ghost sign and put it on Usagi's head. Usagi then passed out. Latter when Usagi got up Rei apologized and explains that she has been off on her visions. When Usagi left she went by a bus and saw it drive off and disappear. She then when back to the shrine. Usagi was talking to Rei about the disappearing busses and Rei got mad said that the shrine had nothing to do with them. So Usagi left. When Usagi left Rei noticed that Usagi had dropped a strange pen. Usagi walked back to the bus and Luna told her this time she was going on it. Usagi was scared so she transformed into a stewardess and she got on the bus and she saw everyone unconscious. Then the bus started driving and went to the other dimension. Rei then went to the fire to consult with it and it told her it was Jedite who was doing all this evil stuff. So Rei went to talk to Jedite and said she knew it was him doing all this evil. But he opened up a black hole and sent Rei Through it. Usgai and Luna got out of the bus and saw Rei falling and the youma jumped up and grabs her, and starts to chock her. Then A sign appears and it's the sign of mars. Rei's pets crows come and save Rei and Sailormoon uses her tiara and traps the youma and Luna tells Rei that she is Sailormars and tells her to transform. She does and she becomes the fighter for love and justice, Sailormars. Although Rei and Usagi fight all the time, the are really best of friends. They don't always show there affection for each other but it is there. Hikawa Jinjo is the meeting spot for the senshi to discuss sailor business.

Hino Rei and Chiba Mamoru

Rei use to have a huge crush on Mamoru. She would use to follow him around to be near him. A few times she even made a complete fool of herself, after falling on the ground on her face. As time came on they learned that Mamoru was Usagi love from long ago and that thier love was destined. Rei got over Mamoru but it took time, because she really loved him.
