Sega Enterprises Ltd. / Gainax for
Windows 95, 1997;Sega Saturn, 1998
Apple Macintosh, 1998; Sony Playstation, 1998 The story starts out when Tokyo-3 is bombarded which left the city in flames. NERV was not able to anticipate the attack and they were not ready for this new threat. At the sametime, a new girl is trying to "make the moves" on Shinji: Mana. Is she the key to the whole new threat for Tokyo-3 and NERV? This game spans 4 CD-ROMs. Neon Genesis Evangelion Girlfriend of Steel was first a Windows 95-based game made by Gainax with the help of Sega Enterprises. The game won itself numerous awards, the best being "Interactive Game of the Year" for Windows-based systems in a recently concluded anime show. Since the game was so popular and critically acclaimed, Gainax decided to port the game into other formats. First off is for the Sega Saturn, to whom Gainax will give an early exclusivity right, because of their affiliation. Girlfriend of Steel hits the Sega Saturn last February 1998 which retains the original game format (and the 4 CDs length). A Macintosh version is on the works and lastly a Sony Playstation version. For the Sony Playstation however, Sega will be passing the translation to someone else (probably Gainax). |
