"Well, why do we always have to wait for their attack? Can't we be attacking them for once?"

     "We would if we could..." 

     Asuka as a woman and Asuka as a child... Shinji accepts her as she is,  although he is slightly troubled by the contrast.

     NERV finds a new Angel in embryo form. They immediately hatch a plan to capture it alive. Asuka was refuses to go because of the "uncomfortable" heat-proof plug suit, but changes her mind when Rei volunteers to go instead of her. 

     "I don't want you to touch my Unit 02."

      "I'm sorry, but I'd rather go looking like this than have her go."

     The girls whose only means of proving themselves is through piloting Eva... Then what about Shinji himself? Why must he prove himself to his father this way? His head becomes filled with mixed feelings when he hears about his father's orders to destroy everyone on site including himself should the project fail. The battle plan started, and Unit 02 - equipped with D-type equipment to withstand the high temperature and pressure- is lowered into the river of hot lava... 

     The Angel was captured successfully 

      "Are you okay, Asuka?"

      "Of COURSE I'm okay." 

     Then without warning, the captured Angel begins to hatch, and starts to attack Unit 02. 

     A battle within a burning magma.. The Angel shows incredible mobility, and sturdiness. Even progressive knife has no effect on its body. Asuka is having a very hard time when she hatches a plan. 

     "Channel all cooling liquid's pressure into third pipe, Hurry!" 

     The Angel was terminated by extreme heat difference after a large amount of cooling fluid is injected into it. However, before it perishes, its Claws destroys Unit 02's cables. Unit 02, along with Asuka starts to sink deep into Magma pool. A blank look appears on Asuka's face... 

     "This must be the end..." 

     Then with a sudden shock, EVA 02 stops sinking. Asuka looks up to see the face of Unit 01. 

     "Shinji..." 

     Peaceful smile replaces the blank look on Asuka's face. 

     "That idiot, show-off..."
