Too Much to Know in This World

Last night I took a practice SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) just to see how much I improved
over my three years of college. I only took the math portion since I am a math major. My
result was impressive. I scored a 730 out of 800 possible which is higher than a mere 470 when
I took it in high school. Of course I did not limit myself 30 minutes and of course I used a
calculator, but since I did not limit my time, why bother abide the testing conditions and the
rules.

After thinking about my happy 730 score, I wonder that since I am a math major, how come
I did not score a perfect 800? For one thing, there are lots of concepts related to the field
of mathematics: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and lots, lots more. I can probably
score a perfect 800 within 10 years.

Why do I say 10 years? As I said in the last paragraph, there are lots of concepts related
to mathematics. I believe that I don't know every algebra and geometry concept necessary to
achieve a perfect 800. (But I do know enough to go through college and earn my degree.) Also,
my thinking skills are still in the developing process. The more practice of thinking and more
practice of taking the math portion of the SAT, I shall score close to 800. Let me emphasize
the following, the more practice of thinking, the better student and better person I will become.

This is an example that demonstrates that there are too much to know in this world. Nobody
in this world knows everything; however, there are many people that have great knowledge in many
aspects. As for me, I know math, baseball, economics, education, piano, music, movies, my city
which is San Jose, and writing stories.

Moreover, there are many people including those with great knowledge who want to acquire
more knowledge. The more knowledge a person has, the better person he or she becomes. Never
stop learning is what many people says. As for me, I am acquiring more knowledge in math,
baseball, economics, education, piano, music, movies, my city which is San Jose,
writing stories, and new areas and topics at a future time.

Even though a person knows a lot, there is still much more to learn. How about learning to
change the oil of a car? How about learning to program a VCR? How about learning how to read
the stock market? How about learning how to use the Internet? How about learning how to bowl?
How about learning how to take great pictures?

How about learning philosophy? How about learning about the U.S. Government? How about
learning about the history of man? How about learning Calculus? How about learning how to draw
pictures and art?

Yes, there are many things to know in this world. Too much to know. Do I have to know
everything? I can try, but I think there is a point where I know enough to live the fullest,
and this point is many miles away. I am a junior in college, and there are many things I want
to know; for example, after college I want to know basic auto mechanics, basic home repair,
basic carpentry, and much, much more. It will take time, but I will take it one step at a time.
I have a life so I feel like I can learn something one day at a time and not have to rush it.
I may not know everything in one field of expertise such as car repairs and mathematics, but I
am sure I will know enough to satisfy myself and feel like I know everything. If I don't feel
like I know enough, I can acquire more knowledge by taking classes or by reading books.

There is too much to know in this world. I feel that anyone shall learn everything to live
a productive life. If anyone feels he or she knows enough to live a productive life, that person
shall think twice because there is much more to learn improve life again and again. Does that
person know how to fix a leaky faucet or know that the House of Representatives and the Senate
are Congress?
