Capcom Announces Capcom vs Everybody Who Ever Was, Ever

SUNNYVALE, CA- Capcom has announced this week that they have begun work on a new title in their popular Street Fighter series. "Capcom vs. Everybody Who Ever Was, Ever" marks the next natural progression of the Street Fighter tag team series.

"After losing the Marvel license to Activision, we had to come up with something to keep this series alive," says Capcom representative Ken Nunn. "We signed a deal with SNK to do a Samurai Showdown, Street Fighter crossover, but then we found that to be less spectacular than we had hoped for." This resulted in Capcom signing deals with the rest of the world to create Capcom vs. Everybody That Ever Was, Ever.

"Basically," says Nunn, "The plot is that everybody who was ever in a Capcom game has to fight everybody who was ever in anything, ever." Early screen shots recieved by NGR show a six man tag match with Ken, Mega Man and the Vice President of Capcom vs. Superman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and TV's Kojak - Telly Savalas. We've also were granted pictures of Dan, Cammy, and Strider taking on Scrappy Doo, Dale Earnhart, and Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica.

"We're going to come up with a story eventually, but our parent company in Japan hasn't been able to supply their writers with the massive amounts of Saki and opium poppies they'll need to cinch this one together. So far, all we have is that President Clinton has captured Ryu and Dilbert, and so Abraham Lincoln and the rest of the world has to come save them from the shame associated with being trapped in a giant jar of mayonnaise. And Ryu is honorable, and only cares about the fight."

"We're also working on a new combo system. So far, Kevin from the Wonder Years is the only one with a 100 hit combo, but Bill Cosby and Ruth Bader-Ginsburg both now have fireballs. Also, Sojourner Truth has a wicked axe kick. Secret characters will include Lou Pinella, Baby Jessica, and Brer Rabbit."

The game is still well under development, but already players are waiting to pit Ryu, Ken, Mega Man, the pieces from Puzzle Fighter, and the Resident Evil zombies against Joan of Arc, Batman, James Monroe, Mickey Mouse, Garfield, Albert Einstein, Robert Oppenheimer, Madam Curie, the Dewey Decimal System, Linda Tripp, Mick Jagger, Steve Gutenberg, Grimace from Mcdonald's, Anthony Michael Hall, Alan Alda, Jumpman jr., the plane from Barnstorming, E.T., Pinky Tuscadero, the Herculoids, Boogerman, the cast of Ellen, Urkel, Albert Schweitzer, Donny Osmond, Martin Landau, several flavors of pocky, Burgess Meredith, Nolan Bushnell, a monkey with an advanced case of syphallis, McGruff the Crime dog, Dennis Rodman, some Montana Freemen, and the French.

The game is due March 2000.
