New York, New York

New York is really the most exciting city. We were
there for two weeks and we also went to Connecticut and
Boston during those two weeks.
In New York city, we stayed at a total of 4 different places!

The first was Woolworth Hotel near Times Square. This was the
expensive and of course, most luxurious of the 4 hotels we
stayed at. Next was the Big Apple Hostel.
Well, there were 4 of us and the room we had was really tiny.
There was also no air-conditioning and we slept that night
with the door open. We left after that night. None of us
could handle the stuffiness of the room.

Next, we went to Madison Hotel on 27th street Madison Ave.
For 2 dollars more than what we paid for the Big Apple
Hostel, we get air-conditioning, an attached bathroom, a TV
and a fridge!
At that time, what we really cared for was air-conditioning!

We also stayed a night at the Aladdin Hotel on 8th Ave.
It's pretty nice but no air-conditioning. We have begun
to realise that air-conditioning is very important when
travelling to New York in June/July!

We stayed at Madison Hotel most of the time cos we think it's
good value for money. This hotel is nothing fanciful but it's
safe and clean. You might want to consider this hotel when
planning for your trip.

Here are some links that will help you plan a trip to New York City. I know they helped me get to know New York a little better!

If you are on a budget, Larry's guide will help you! He also operates the East Coast explorer. We took that to Boston. I had a fun time and Paul, our driver, was most hilarious!
Erh, one note of caution. If you are prone to motion sickness, don't sit at the back of the van. I ended up puking halfway through the trip. A bummer but I recovered pretty fast after swallowing 2 motion sickness tablets.
