What do you see in the eyes of the Queen Of long ago . Go ahead, take a good look. It is said in Sailormoon the Serenity gave her life for her kingdom, Daughter and the court. But what you see in her eyes isn't for her fallen kingdom at this moment she could care less. We know Queen Serenity as a Queen, remember also that is wonderful women was also a Mother of a child. She is not crying as a Queen, but as a Mother who has just seen her daughter parish. She doesn't yell "Damn you Beryl !" or anything like that, she calls out to her child in the slightest hope the small spark in side of her pleading that she has to be alive. Her Breathing, seeing, hoping, loving child has just got to be alive. You can tell when she is looking at Princess Serenity, she's looking for any movement, any sign that she is alive. The tears fall for her child, not her kingdom. Princess Serenity is gone, her daughter, the last of her family ,(We have to assume P. Serenity's Father is Dead)the one that she has taken care of since birth, doing everything in her power to keep her safe and to teach her everything that her daughter would need to know, is dead. It is then she decides to use the crystal, to trap everyone inside of it, good and bad. I'm sure she wanted to kill them, but her daughter would live and that is all that matters to her. Of course her kingdom was very important to her, she had devoted her whole life to peace and achieved it and most importantly keeping it together. After using the Crystal where she lays dyeing she mentions her daughter three times, while only referring to the others once. What hurts her the most is that her daughter will live with different parents, with no memory of her. But she will live and that was the most important to her. She could live and be happy. The second thing, protect Princess Serenity , keep her safe . Luna and Artiemis were sent to protect Princess if the Dark Kingdom ever broke free and they did.
Her Kingdom was very important to her, it wasn't only her daughter who she sacrificed her life for. It was also for that hope, with the court, her daughter, and the people of the kingdom in place there shall be peace once again. And 2,000 years later that peace is gained in the new kingdom of Crystal Tokyo where her memory shall go on forever .
