Part 22

The Brood King watches the failures of his broodlings from afar. He is in a state of both disgust and amazement. He could not believe that his broodlings, whom he thought were omnipotent like himself, could be vanquished so easily. "I cannot belive this!" The Brood King thought to himself. "My broodlings were strong! How can a mere sword could kill them all? Unless it's the legendary Eternal Demon Slayer of Angelus, then it would make sense. I must find some kind of way to stop the sword and the one who wields it."

Meanwhile, all of the ThunderCats finally reaches back to Cat's Lair to report their findings. Pumyra was outside waiting for them, looking like she saw a ghost. "Pumyra's what's wrong?" Wylikit asked. "You look like you've been visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future on the same day." Wylikat commented. Stuttering slightly, she tells everyone she saw Ocello in Cat's Lair. "Ocello? Nocti's late husband?" Acrapha shouted. "Are you sure?" Pumyra nods nervously.

At that time, a worm broodling snuck behind the ThunderCats and disguised itself as a medium-sized stone. No one noticed its presence around the ThunderCats except Acrapha. "I sense something." Acrapha whispered. "Everyone slowly step away." Her comment directed mostly to Nightshade, Kyttihawk & Sphynxorius, so the three stepped away slightly. Seconds later, Acrapha chanted the Demon's Blase spell that blasted the incognito broodling.

Kyttihawk turned around to see the creature. "What the hell?" Kyttihawk blurted. Just then, the broodling latched itself to Kyttihawk's body. Kyttihawk panicked as the broodling slowly drains Kyttihawk's life force. Nightshade, seeing an opportunity to strike, quickly charged her powers to one of her fingers and applied "The Critical Touch" to the broodling's forehead. Within seconds, the broodling removed it's hold on Kyttihawk, dropped to the ground, and exploded. "Ewwwww... gross!" Arakni said in disgust. "It will recover from its wounds quickly." Nightshade said. "We should get inside your building to avoid another surprise attack from this monster."

Just then, Hystalin, who was just several minutes late, arrived to New Cat's Lair. "What happened while I was gone?" Hystalin asked. "Sorry for being late." Kyttihawk, trying to cover her slightly warped holes in her leotard, pointed to the wounded broodling. "Oh that thing..." Hystalin said as she readied the Eternal Demon Slayer and boosted to Super-Saiyin Level 2. "I can take care of that thing easily." With the Eternal Demon Slayer in her hands, she slashed the wounded broodling, killing it and turning it to a pile of ash. "Now that that broodling is now dead and gone," Hystalin said, "Only one broodling remains... the Brood King."

Cheetara turned to Hystalin and asked, "Who or what is the Brood King?" Hystalin turned to Cheetara and the rest of the ThunderCats and said, "The Brood King is the strongest of all of the Brood. Only my mother was able to see the monster's appearance and lived. My mother has told me stories about the infamous Brood King when I was a child. If what she says is true, it would be the ThunderCats' greatest challenge ever. Everyone gasped.

Meanwhile, Nocti was still in the bathroom, still petrified of her surprise. "Ocello's alive... Ocello's alive." Nocti murmured. Just then, she remember the words her late father told her... "follow your heart". Nocti slowly calmed herself down, which was not easy for her to do, and thought about everything. She remember her phone talks with Ocello, the scandalous wedding, their honeymoon, and everything else he had done for the ThunderCats. She also remembers how Devilman helped the ThunderCats... from the first day he helped her parent on Mt. Angelus, which was told to her when she was little, to when she first met the legendary Devilman on Hook Mountain, to the day she and her parents arrived to his dimension to destroy the Antichrist, which ended with Devilman settling on New Thundera and becoming an unofficial citizen of New Thundera. It was a very hard decision to make. She had good reasons to stay with Ocello and enough reasons to continue with Devilman.

However, the New Cat's Lair began to rumble. "What's going on?" Nocti said. Little did anyone know, The Brood King was about to make its first appearance in over 3000 years.

Part 23

Nocti emerged from the bathroom to find Ocello & Devilman in a defensive stance. She wondered what was going to happen. "You to are not going to fight over me, are you?" Nocti asked. "Do you know how passe the duel is?" Little did she know that the two were not going fight each other, but they are to find an oncoming enemy. "Guys," Nocti whined, "will either one of you tell me what the hell is going on?"

From the floor, a monster, humanoid in form, with ebony black skin, red eyes, long and sharp claws, jet black hair that stretched 4 feet long, and an animal-like face, emerged to the surface, wearing what looks like a crown made of bones. After about 3000 years in hiding, The Brood King makes his appearance. Nocti gasps in horror as The Brood King rose to the surface. Devilman & Ocello were ready for an oncoming attack. "It has been so long since I have been seen by ordinary mortals." The Brood King boasted. "Although most of my subjects are eliminated, it shall not deter me from my goal of siphoning all forms of life from this planet."

Ocello looked to the face of the giant and overconfident monster. "So you must be The Brood King that the people in heaven have been talking about." Ocello said. "It looks like it's up to us to kill you." "Kill me?" The Brood King hollered. "You do not have a chance in hell of defeating me." Ocello narrowed his eyes as The Brood King spoke. Ocello said sternly to the Brood King, "We shall see about it... KAIOHKEN ATTACK!!!!!!" Ocello was surrounded in a deep red, fiery aura and attacked The Brood King. He quickly landed several punches that ripped the Brood King's chest apart. Ocello landed back on the ground, next to Devilman.

"It looks like you're already defeated." Ocello said. "May you rot in hell with all of your other insects that you rule over." Moments later, The Brood King's gaping wounds slowly healed to the point where it looks undamaged. "How could this be?" Ocello wondered. "I cannot be killed by your meager attempts." The Brood King bellowed. "However, I can attempt to kill you and everyone else on this lowly rock of a planet."

With those words, The Brood King fired a powerful lightning burst at Ocello, which sent him to the wall. Ocello brushed a bit of blood from his lip and looked to The Brood King. "Damn, it looks like this calls for a Spirit Bomb." Ocello said to himself. "Nocti, Devilman, it looks like you two has to distract this monster, so I can have enough time to gather enough energy for the Spirit Bomb. Hearing Ocello's words, Nocti boosted to Super Saiyin Level 2 and unleashed The Spear of White. With Devilman's help, the two fought The Brood King while Ocello prepared the Spirit Bomb.

"I can feel it gathering in my hands." Ocello said to himself while he prepares one of his most powerful attacks. "The winds... the trees... the earth... the water... we shall vanquish our enemy with the power we possess." Ocello was seconds away from consummating the Spirit Bomb until Devilman & Nocti were thrown to the walls by the Brood King. As Ocello was about to throw the completed Spirit Bomb, The Brood King fired a lightning blast at Ocello, making Ocello drop the Spirit Bomb... on himself! From outside, the rest of the ThunderCats heard the explosion. "What was that?" Wylikat shouted. "I hope it's just a technical problem." Wylikit commented.

Nocti & Devilman watched in horror as Ocello was blasted by his own attack. Some of the Spirit Bomb's energy affected the Brood King as well but not by much. Ultimately, the bomb exploded, making a giant hole in the side of New Cat's Lair that was about 20 feet wide. Nocti & Devilman were banged up quite a bit. The Brood King was also beaten very bad, yet it survived. However, Ocello was once again mortally wounded. Nocti crawled to Ocello's side to her husband.

"Ocello?" Nocti blurted. "I feel like such an idiot!" Ocello scolded himself. "I dropped the Spirit Bomb on myself, and now I'm going to die again." Nocti shed some tears for Ocello. "Don't say that Ocello." Nocti whispered. "I love you." Ocello turned to Nocti and said, "I waited so long to hear those words again. If I have to die after hearing those words enter my ears again, I would feel a whole lot better in heaven. I remember our wedding day... the day you and I wed. It was such a wonderful day despite its scandalous beginning. I wanted to give you beautiful children, but it looks like I'll never give you a family." "Ocello..."Nocti whispered in a haze of tears. "I was going to choose you." "Don't cry for me Nocti. This life is over for me." Ocello said. "Make the most of what your life is now. Good-bye Nocti. Thank you for loving me." With those words, Ocello slowly closed his eyes. Ocello passes away in Nocti's arms.

Devilman staggered to Ocello's lifeless body and to Nocti's side. "He was a brave man." Devilman said. "He will surely be missed." Nocti cried incessantly over her late husband. The Brood King was still damaged from the energy blast from Ocello's Spirit Bomb. In a haze of anger, sorrow and vengeance, her Super-Saiyin powers raised up to Level 3. Nocti gets up from the ground with her long golden mane reaching down, and fired a very powerful fire spell at the damaged Brood King. It blew another part of Cat's Lair to ashes, yet the Brood King survived. "I don't care what it takes, but I will avenge Ocello's death," Nocti shouted, "as well as everyone else who were murdered by your followers!"

Meanwhile, while everyone was outside of Cat's Lair, a large defensive barrier surrounded the monolith. Cheetara felt a bit of pain within herself as she feels someone dying. "I sense a strong powerful force inside of Cat's Lair!" Cheetara hollered in pain. "It's nothing like I've ever felt in the past!" Hystalin turned around and imagined the worst. "The Brood King is here!" Hystalin thought. "After 3000 years of hiding, the monster that my mother sealed away has finally reappeared to make a comeback. I pray no one is inside that place right now.

Part 24

Outside of Cat's Lair, Hystalin turns around and looks at Cat's Lair. With her enchanted blade, the Eternal Demon Slayer in her hands, she puts it to the air to feel in any presences of any life forces. "I sense three life forces within the walls of Cat's Lair. I sense two on the side of good and one on the side of evil. I sense..." Nocti continued, "I sense... NOCTI!!!!!" All of the ThunderCats turned to Hystalin. "Nocti is inside that building?" Kyttihawk asked. "Nocti and Devilman... they are both inside the building with the largest evil force I've ever felt!"

Seconds later, she felt the evil force upsurge a second time. "No... it can't be..." Hystalin stuttered. "It must be... THE BROOD KING!" The ThunderCats were confused; however, Nightshade dreaded this event. "The Brood King is here!" Nightshade thought. "The Antichrist of my dimension has arrived!" Hystalin turned to the ThunderCats and five of her daughters. "It looks like the final battle is at hand." Hystalin said. "I will have to break through the barrier and kill the Brood King before he kills Nocti." Hystalin then boosted to Super-Saiyin Level 2 and took to the skies. She chanted the Holy Flames spell with the aid of her sword at the barrier. Unfortunately, the spell was unaffective on the magic barrier. "This is not good." Hystalin said to herself.

Meanwhile, from within Cat's Lair, The Brood King emitted many powerful lightning blasts at Devilman & Nocti. Nocti, still in Super-Saiyin Level 3 status, used the "Magic Wall" spell. Although some of the lightning bursts struck, most of the blasts were deflected by the Magic Wall. Nocti creates a hole in the Magic Wall for her to shoot out the Angel's Blaze. The Angel's Blaze made a direct hit on The Brood King. However, Nocti's spell was not able to kill The Brood King. "How can we be able to defeat this monster?" Nocti stuttered. "That monster is worse that that bitch i fought years ago... Siren, the Demon Bird!" Devilman commented.

Outside of Cat's Lair, Hypnos, Acrapha, Waterturkey, Arakni, Orintha (In Super-Saiyin Level 1 status) as well as Brainchild Wylikit & Wylikat were charging their magic power. Within a minute, Hypnos emitted the Holy Flames, Acrapha chanted the Demon's Blaze, Orintha, Arakni & Waterturkey chanted powerful light beam spells, Brainchild used the Mind Gem & Wylikit and Wylikat used their "Twin Magic" spell simultaneously on one spot of the magic barrier. After a few minutes, the combined powers of the young magic users created a hole wide enough for Nightshade & Hystalin to go through. Afterwards, the magic users stopped their magic spells and fainted. The hole closed as well. Cheetara, Pumyra, Kyttihawk & Sphynxorius looked to the monolith with a bit of hope. "It's all up to them now." Cheetara whispered. "Good luck."

Hystalin & Nightshade entered Cat's Lair and searched frantically for any signs of life. "It looks like a war has occurred in this place!" Nightshade commented. "Do you know if they are alive?" Hystalin turned to Nightshade and said, "Yes, they are. However, they're not fairing well against whatever their fighting." Within seconds, Hystalin & Nightshade shot through Cat's Lair to find anyone inside. After several minutes of searching, Hystalin & Nightshade found Nocti, Devilman, Ocello's dead body, and a monster that was attacking Nocti & Devilman. "I don't believe it!" Hystalin said to herself. "That must be... The Brood King!" Nightshade looked to the monster, and her eyes narrowed. "It the monster that has ravaged my world. It must die!" Nightshade thought.

"We cannot fight this monster forever!" Nocti shouted. "Eventually, it'll recover from any attacks we throw at it, it'll kill us both and eventually, everyone else on New Thundera!" Devilman fired a kinetic blast at the Brood King, but the monster easily shielded itself from the blow. "Nothing I do can make a dent into that thing!" Devilman shouted. Just then, a beam of white fire hit the Brood King. Nocti & Devilman were unsure on where it came from until they saw Hystalin & Nightshade by the doorway. "Mother is here," Nocti said, "and Nightshade is here too!"

"You don't think I would leave you two to this monster's mercy, did you?" Hystalin commented. "What kind of mother would I be if I let you to that walking guillotine?" Hystalin turned to the Brood King. "You must the daughter of the little skank, Andorra, right?" The Brood King snapped. "I shall have the pleasure of killing you and your offspring first before I kill everyone else on this planet!" "Brood King", Hystalin said as she boosted to Super-Saiyin Level 2 status, "I know why you've come here. If you think I will make my mother's mission, which she gave up her life to complete, go on unfinished, you're dead wrong! I will finish the job my mother gave up her life for and unable to complete!" Hystalin held the Eternal Demon Slayer in her hand and prepared for any oncoming attacks.

Part 25

Hystalin was ready for any oncoming attacks by the Brood King. With the Eternal Demon Slayer in her hands, she braced herself for what will be the greatest fight of her entire life. The Brood King begun its attack by emitting hundreds of lightning blast at the Black Paladin. Hystalin expected such an attack and immediately put up a "Magic Wall" spell on herself. The lightning spell bounced back to the Brood King, but it did not suffer any damage whatsoever.

Hystalin, boosting to Super-Saiyin Level 2 status, jumped to the air, parried any more attacks from the Brood King, and made a valiant attempt at slashing the monster with her enchanted blade. Unfortunately, The Brood King moved too quickly, and Hystalin missed by a mere inch. The Brood King looked up, grabbed Hystalin by the throat and threw her to the wall. Coughing some blood, Hystalin got back to her feet and attacked a second time. The Brood King emitted a fire spell on Hystalin's face, temporarily blinding her. Hystalin was helpless.

"Now it is the time to begin my mission of ridding this planet of all life," The Brood King bellowed, "starting with the spawn of the woman who imprisoned me!" The Brood King charged its powers for a mere second and fired one of his most powerful spells... Satan's Hellfire. Unable to see anything, Hystalin could not move away in time; however, Nocti pushed her mother out of way just in time. The Brood King's spell hit the wall, making a very loud explosion that was heard from miles away.

From outside, the rest of the ThunderCats were surprised from the loud explosion. "Did you see that?" Kyttihawk commented. "They must be struggling." Sphynxorius wondered. Hypnos looked to the scarred monolith that was Cat's Lair through the magic barrier and thought, "Mother, be strong. Everyone is counting on you to stop that monster!"

Meanwhile, inside of Cat's Lair while the war waged on, Hystalin panted slightly after missing that attack by mere inches. "Nocti, my daughter," Hystalin said, "Thank you for saving your mother; however, I cannot see before my eyes. I want you to use my enchanted blade and destroy the monster until I finis chanting a healing spell that will mend my vision." Nocti agreed, so Hystalin passed the Eternal Demon Slayer to her daughter. Afterwards, Hystalin begun the "Vision Healing" spell on herself.

"Well, it looks like it's up to me for now." Nocti said while holding the enchanted blade. "If I have to sacrifice my life to save this world, as well as my own mother, then I will without question. Brood King, it's time for you to die!" With those words, Nocti boosted to Super-Saiyin Level 3 and leaped to the Brood King. Brood King stepped back, so it can avoid the oncoming attack. Nocti, however, was not finished yet. After she landed safely to the ground, Nocti sprinted to the Brood King, with the mammoth blade ready.

In spirit form, inside Nocti's mind, those who died because of the brood spoke out. "My father is not to blame." Mumm-Ruzzo said. "It was the one who possessed him." "Cut them down for me," Ben Gali spoke, "like how their kind cut me in half!" "Burn them Nocti!" Cougara spoke, "Burn them like how I got burned to death!" "A wise man knows that light will triumph over darkness." Tygra spoke. "I'm certain your light will phase out The Brood's darkness." "You have grown much stronger my darling neice." Ailura spoke. "I have total faith in you."

The Brood King diligently attacked with all of its might on Nocti, but she moved too fast for any of the Brood King's attacks to connect. In a blind leap of faith, Nocti jumped to the Brood King, pinned the monster to the ground, and impaled the creature with the Eternal Demon Slayer, right through its evil, black heart. The Brood King screamed in agony, for it realized its own mortality. In the end, the Brood King's body slowly turned to ash. Finally, after 3000 years, The Brood King is dead, and the Angeleese race that is the Brood is extinct.

Hystalin, fortunately, finished the "Vision Healing" spell on herself just in time for her to see Nocti vanquish the Brood King. It was a sight she wanted to dearly to see. As the Brood King finally turned to ash, she took a deep breath and stood to her feet. "It's finally over." Hystalin said softly. "My mother's job is finally finished, yet it was my daughter who finished the job. I wish it was me who killed that monster." Nightshade also witnessed the Brood King's demise. "It's over." Nightshade thought. "My dimension will never face the destruction of The Brood. Thank you... mother."

Part 26

Within seconds of the Brood King's demise, the magic barrier that surrounded Cat's Lair quickly vanished. The surviving ThunderCats immediately rushed inside the large and scarred monolith. As they are about to open the door, Hystalin exits with Nightshade, Devilman & Nocti. Hystalin & Nocti has several scars on their bodies. Devilman is also scarred very bad. Nightshade, who never landed a punch, was undamaged. "Hystalin, what happened?" Cheetara asked. "The Brood is extinct." Hystalin said and sighed in relief. "It's all over."

Pumyra stepped up and asked Hystalin, "Did you see Ocello inside of Cat's Lair? He was looking for Nocti." Hystalin took a deep breath. "We did find him." Hystalin said. "However, in the fight with The Brood King, he was murdered." Pumyra was shocked. "I see..." Pumyra replied. Hystalin looked to the remaining ThunderCats. "Well, now that the Brood is no more, what are we going to do about those who were massacred by those monsters and Mumm-Ra?" Hystalin asked.

"I can probably answer that question." Brainchild spoke out. "I've been working on a very special magic spell that Orgass taught me after he was resurrected." Hystalin and the rest of the ThunderCats were relieved yet surprised. "Hey... I thought Orgass died!" Sphynxorius exclaimed. "You're right, Orgass died by Mumm-Ra's hands last year." Brainchild answered. "Fortunately, I was able to bring him back to life with the help of someone called Phoenix." Brainchild then spoke out again. "Well, after Orgass was brought back to life, he made a second set of Dragon Balls and taught me a magic spell that can bring the balls to me instead of all of us hunting for it." Brainchild exclaimed. "As soon as the balls arrive, you can use them to summon the Eternal Dragon, and we can wish our fallen comrades back to life!"

Immediately, Brainchild focused his magic powers with his talisman, The Mind Gem. After a good amount of concentration, he began his magic spell...

"Seven orbs of Namek design..."
"Seven orbs of heaven divine..."
"Dragon Balls come to my feet..."
"So we can save those from fatal defeat!"

Nothing happened. "Are you sure this is supposed to work," Hypnos commented, "or is this all just a bunch of bull. However, from seven different directions, the seven Dragon Balls flew to the skies to Brainchild's side, orbiting around the young man, then landed to the ground. "Well, how about that," Hypnos replied, dumbfounded, "It worked." "Now that the Dragon Balls are brought back here," Brainchild said, "We can easily summon the Eternal Dragon. Who shall do the honors?"

Nocti, still battered and bruised, volunteered to do the honors, but Nightshade wanted to summon the Eternal Dragon. "Are you want to do this?" Hystalin asked. Nightshade was dead certain. "Now to put these orbs to good use." Nightshade said. "ETERNAL DRAGON, I SUMMON THEE! I WANT TO MAKE MY WISH!"

Within seconds, the seven dragon balls began to pulsate with an unusual yellow-ish glow. The clouds above begin to grow and crackle with thunder. The thunderstorms begin to gather around Cat's Lair. Immediately, the light from the Dragon Balls shot to the skies and phased out to reveal the Eternal Dragon, hovering in the skies. "I am the Eternal Dragon." The Eternal Dragon spoke. "I will grant a single wish. Tell me your wish now, so I can grant it." Nightshade looked to the giant dragon and said, "I wish that those who were murdered by Mumm-Ra and The Brood in this time be brought back to the World of the Living!" The Eternal Dragon squinted and said, "I will grant your wish; however, a couple cannot be brought back, for they have been wished back once already. Farewell." As the Eternal Dragon vanished with a brilliant flash of light, the Dragon Balls floated to the skies and flew off in seven different directions.

Minutes later, the following were brought back to New Thundera: Cougara, Tygra, Mumm-Ruzzo, Tygerlily, Tygarius, Snarf & Ben Gali. "They've finally returned!" Pumyra said. The entire crowd was reunited after the awful brood attack; however, a couple of casualties were not brought back: Ailura, Panthro & Ocello. It was a bittersweet victory, but everyone was relieved that the greatest evil that struck New Thundera has finally been eradicated.

"You've finally done it."

Everyone turned around to see a woman standing in front of the group in an apparition form. It was Hystalin's late mother, Andorra. "Hystalin, ThunderCats, my grandchildren, friends and allies, thank you so much for finishing the job I was unable to finish." Andorra said with benevolence in her voice. "After 3000 years, The Brood, a band if blood-thirsty monsters from Angelus, has finally been eradicated. I thank you all so very much. Now, I can rest in peace." Andorra began to vanish. "Thank you... Thank you for finishing my life-long job..." Seconds later, Andorra vanished.

Part 27

Nighttime was a time of great celebration. Not only did most of the ThunderCats were brought back by Orgass's set of Dragon Balls, but The Brood and all of its minions were all slaughtered. Everyone was celebrating, dancing, singing, game of all kinds... it was a gay and merry time although Ailura, Panthro & Ocello died from the Brood Wars. It was a gay and merry time. Everyone was happy... except for one person... Nightshade.

In a dark corner, where she was away from any prying eyes, Nightshade thought about her adventures with who were her future parents, Nocti & Devilman. Nightshade took a deep breath. "Now that The Brood is dead, and my future is now altered for the better," Nightshade thought, "my time in the past is now over. Tonight, I shall return back to the present... a new present."

Acrapha, who snuck a bottle of vintage Snarf Wine from the liquor table, was feeling rather inebriated. Hiccuping madly, she staggered away to a spot where she can throw up and not bring any attention. As she was tossing her cookies, she vaguely sees Nightshade chanting a spell on herself. In a matter of seconds, Nightshade left her past. Acrapha, still feeling drunk, hallucinated and thought, "Ahhhhh... it was just a big firefly that burned out... " Acrapha immediately hiccupped, swallowed a little more wine, threw up some more, and passed out.

Hystalin, one of few who were the focus of the festivities, called for Nightshade. "I'm afraid we cannot find her." Hypnos said. "She vanished." Hystalin and Nocti were disappointed. "I never got the chance to thank her for her help." Hystalin pouted. "Oh well, let's not have that spoil our good mood." From another corner, Nocti & Devilman were making out. Not many were paying attention, but several eyes turned as they passionately kissed. "Nocti, I have something to say to you," Devilman said, "and I think you'll like it." Nocti was unsure of what Devilman said, but she didn't ask questions.

"Everyone, I have an announcement to make," Devilman spoke out as called to the large crowd, "and a proposal I would like to make." Devilman turned to Nocti and kneeled to the young female. "Nocti," Devilman said, "I love you, and I want to shout it out to the whole universe, starting now." Devilman pulled out a gold pendant. "Nocti, my love," Devilman spoke out, "will... will you marry me?" Nocti, as well as everyone else were completely surprised. Nocti begun to cry with tears of joy. "Marry you?" Nocti said, "Yes... yes, I will marry you!" Devilman & Nocti embraced in a sensual kiss as everyone else clapped for the soon-to-be married couple.

The following day, after the celebration, Nocti woke up with morning sickness. Chanting a special magic spell on herself, Nocti performed an Angeleese pregnancy test that is almost 100% accurate.
