Info on Goku

As we all know, Goku is a saiyan from the planet Vejita. He came down to earth while his homeplanet was being destroyed. That's why he is one of the last surviving full-blooded saiyans. As the fist one to reach super-saiyan, Goku is the strongest character in the story. What bothers me is that since he is the strongest character, they always have him fight at the last second. For example, when the "earth's special forces" were fighting Nappa and Vegeta, Goku was still on snake way and half of the people were already dead before he arrived. In DragonBall, he starts the quest at age six or seven, then at the end of DragonBall Z, he's already around forty-five.
