The sereies is about a sixteen year old boy who can*get ready for it* turn into a girl when splashed with cold water*freaky, no?* and turn back into a boy when splashed with warm water. Let me tell u how it works.... When someone drowns in a cursed spring, then the next person who falls into the spring turns into the last person who drowned there when splashed with cold water. Unfortunately, Ranma fell into a spring where a girl drowned ...

after coming back,(oh yeah! Genma turns into a panda when splashed with cold water. he too had a problem with springs...) Ranma is engaged by his pop to marry one of Soun's Daughters. He has to choose Akane, because the others stepped down. akane and ranma have an arguement which ends up with ranma calling akane an "uncute tomboy" and then akane hits ranma with the coffe table. They hate each other,(while in reality, they really love each other... they'll never admit it, but there's been some hints...) And that's where the story begins...after all, akane has plenty more coffe tables...
