.o0@ Info about origami @0o.

Origami is a very old form of art and i'm not sure what was the original meaning of it. It came from japan, when children folded dolls to throw in the river, to cast away bad spirits and daemons.
Origami was very difficult, then. You had to study with a master to learn even the simplest models, but fear not, it got simpler through the years and now even i learned my first model in 10 minutes. ( I don't count paper airplanes as origami models, sorry ).
The name is "ori"- fold and "kami"- paper. Very good name, no tricks in it. You can use the name meaning the art or a model. Or anything you want, really.
Now, to the actual definition of origami. It is the art of folding paper ( read the upper paragraph ) to models of any kind. Usually people fold animals, birds, flowers and other beautiful subjects. Origami is very good in bringing the most delicate parts out. (Sorry for my bad English) And, because the models are usually 3d, they look a lot like the original things, though still being simple enough for a human mind to understand.
The rules are that you must NOT ever cut, tear or glue the paper. You can use papers of many shapes, though square is the most usual. I have even seen theorys of folding a sphere! Paper can be thin or thick, most people say newspapers, WC- papers and household paper aren't good, but i think they are a nice challenge for a bored folder.
I can't tell you more due to my ignorance but i wish this encourages someone to begin the folding.
