"Eh? Something wrong?" the magical creature flew down to stare at her.
"I got it! I thought that I was forgetting something!" Sakura exclaimed, her eyes still wide. "I have seen Emi somewhere else! She was the nurse who was supposed to take care of onii-chan!"
"HUH?! She was who?!"
"I knew that she was a spirit but still..!!" Sakura whined, sitting herself down on her bed. She turned to the clock and groaned. "And it's too late to call Li-kun or Tomoyo-chan!"
"Call 'em first thing in the morning." Cerberus advised. "And for now, get some sleep. I got some thinking to do now." he put his paw on his head to accent the fact. "You should be tired enough anyways. It's past midnight."
"I know...but I'm not sure I can fall asleep so easily today.."
Contrary to her belief, she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
Cerberus watched her sleep for a few minutes, then flew over to the window. "I sense something...bad...."
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~!!!!!!!!!!!!"
..was the first thing that Sakura heard when she woke up. She rubbed her eyes and looked towards Cerberus. "What's wrong now...?" she asked sleepily.
"The cards! The Cards Are Gone!!!!!!!!!!!!" Cerberus wailed and the girl clamped her hand against his mouth.
"Shhh! Not so loud!"
"MMMMMMMFFFFF~!!!! (But they are!!!!)"
Sakura chewed on her lower lip. "What do you mean they're gone?"
"I mean that when I went to check up on them last night, they weren't there! They must have scattered again!"
"What!?" she widened her eyes. "HOW?"
"I don't know!" Cerberus put a paw on his head. "I knew that something bad would come, but I didn't think this wou--"
Knock, knock.
"Aw, shoot!" the creature flew quickly to the shelf and froze.
"I'm coming in." a voice called out.
There was a sound of footsteps and then the doorknob. Sakura glanced at the door in expectation of her brother.
"Gosh. You weren't awake yet?" Syaoran entered and snickered, seeing Sakura still in her nightgown.
Sakura turned bright red. "Li-kun!!"
"Ah, so you sensed something, too, eh?" Cerberus muttered, rolling his eyes. "Hey, what about your cards? Are they--"
"They're gone. That's why I came here to see if there was something wrong." Syaoran stated, his lips pursed. "But I saw them scatter. I was up late last night since the rain kept me up."
"What'd you see?"
"There was some sort of 'ghost' or spirit who came into my room, took the cards from my desk and just..blew on them or something. And they scattered."
"What did that 'ghost' look like?"
"HOEH!!!! GHOST?!" Sakura was instantly beneath her covers and shaking as though she had just seen one herself.
Cerberus and Syaoran both facefaulted.
The latter sighed then and said, "She had grayish silver hair...slightly wavy, gray-blue eyes and a white dress on. I think I saw her smile at me before she left." he shut his eyes, recalling the event. "..it wasn't a good experience, I've got to say.."
Sakura was immediately back on her feet and pointing straight at Syaoran. He jumped back as soon as he opened his eyes.
"W-what?!"
Sakura took a seat and slowly took a breath. Then she said, "That was probably my mother, then."
"WHAT?!"
"You know what she looks like!" she exclaimed. "Dad always has the pictures of her on the kitchen table!"
"...come to think of it.." Syaoran started reluctantly.
"Yeah, but if it was, why would she--" Cerberus was cut off from a sudden gust of wind. "Huh?!" he turned.
The three of them shaded their eyes against the abrupt flash of light that came soon after. As soon as the light dimmed, they found themselves transported to a place with beautiful cherry blossom trees surrounding them. Cerberus widened his small eyes as far as they would go.
"This is--" he began.
"Welcome." a woman stepped out from behind one of the trees and gave them a quick smile. She was astoundingly beautiful with long wavy hair....she was wearing a white dress with a few laces here and there.
Sakura's jaw dropped. "Mother!! No way!"
