About me

My background used to be about 20 years in the computer field working on IBM mainframe [AS/400] computers, but now most of the work has been sent overseas, for cheaper labor, so I was forced to change careers. Being with a volunteer fire department for 10 years, I decided to use my talents and training to seek Safety/Haz-Mat and Bio-Terrorism positions, as well as teach CPR and First aid.

Below reflects only some of my training, experiences and credentials:

Accident Investigation & Reporting, American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor, Back Safety, Bloodborne Pathogens, Building Air Quality, Carcinogen Safety, Compressed Gas Safety, Computer Ergonomics, Confined Space Entry, Construction Safety, Defensive Driving, EEO & Sexual Harrassment, Electrical Safety Awareness, Emergency Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Response, Emergency Vehicle Driver, Ergonomics, Fire fighter, Fire Prevention and Safety, Forklift Safety, Hand & Power Tool Safety, Haz. Materials specialist, Hazardous Materials Management, HAZWOPER 8 hour Refresher, Hearing Conservation, Incident Command, Intro to Disaster Services, Job Hazard Analysis, Ladder & Scaffolding Safety, Lead Awareness, Lock & Leave Policy, LockOut/TagOut Procedures, Machine Guarding Safety, Material Safety Data Sheets, Medic First Aid, Office Ergonomics, Office Safety, OSHA 300 Recordkeeping, OSHA 501 - General Industry Instructor, OSHA Compliance & Workplace Safety, Overseas Responsibilities, Personal Protective, Portable Fire Extinguishers, Radiation Safety, Rescue Diver, Rescue Specialist 1, Rescue Tech, Respiratory Protection, Safe Work Practices, Sexual Harassment, Slips, Trips and Falls, Swift Water Rescue 1 & 2, Trenching and Excavation Safety, Workplace Safety, Weapon of Mass destruction, Improvised Explosive devices, and on and on and on. Whew! I forgot how much I have done!

My computer background and training is just as extensive. If you know anyone hiring, let me know.

A little about my hobbies, etc.

I have been an avid scuba diver for about 15 years now (if it's wet, I'll dive it) and have enjoyed some of the best diving this planet has to offer. Starting out years ago with the normal "pretty" coral diving, I worked my way up to wreck diving logging (to date) over 300 dives on various ship wrecks along the Eastern seaboard. Maybe I will add some the wrecks I have done...dunno.

Some of my certifications to name a few include:

Other diving certifications are CMAS (1 star), Advanced Open Water Diver, Medic First Aid Diver, Cavern Diver, Equipment Specialist, Underwater Navigator, and Century Diver. If you noticed, I am also Cave Diver Certified and on that note, please, if you are NOT Cave dive certified, DO NOT go cave diving!! It is a very dangerous sport and many open water divers have died in underwater cave systems only because they were not properly trained. For more information on Cave Diving, you can link to the National Speleological Society - Cave Diving Section home page here NSS-CDS
