FAN ART
AND COMMISSIONS
These are
works from 1998-1999. Which are some of my more mature works.
Except for
commissions, they are finished CGs.
The years
1995-1997 are much more elaborate earlier works, which are
scattered
on various other sites out there.

FAN
ART FOR ZONGTEN
-
THE FIRE GOD -
This one is
a fan art for my favorite manga artist.
It's not watercolor
at all, but a CG.
I was interested
in playing around with
transparency.
And a wet, wet, shirt
seems sexy
enough.
Now that I
realize it, most of my
work does
to various degrees
have a seductive
quality to them, don't they?
I prefer white
backgrounds.
It's hard
to find a proper setting,
when I don't
have one in advance.
As a result,
I messed up the ones below.
They are too
dark.
But then,
olive complexion isn't too bad. |

THE CORONATION
SKETCHES
This is the
hugest section of my work, which is ongoing.
I plan to
have a thumnail of all the characters I created in Coronation lined up
here.
There are
many sketches yet to be scanned here.

THE COMMISSIONS
These are
drawn to the client's specifications. Airbrushed & painted by hand.
I take commissions
seriously, and these do take a week from planning to execution.
Lots of thought
went into these.

THE
NORIKO MERMAID
- from
GUNBUSTER-
Click open
the image to see.
This one
is my all-time favorite.
The shadows
and the semi-transparent
wet shirt
over the mini come out well.
This is not
a cell work, but acrylic & airbrush
on 11"x14"
bristol board.
In the original,
the tail shimmers even more
iridescently
and is worked in 3 layers of paint.
Come to think
of it...
Actually,
the entire figure is worked in 3 layers.
There is
the base coat, the shadow, and then
the highlight.
Some details needed to be added
on to the
4th layer.
For example,
the tail fin is laced over with
white ink
lines; same thing with the scales.
I like mermaids.
Working on the tail is the best part.
After the
basic painting is done, I had to
reink all
the black outlines, since the original
outlines
were by then all covered up by the
paint layers
above it.
