Support, Movement and Reaction Abilities


Support, Movement and Support abilities are abilities which can be set onto units regardless of the units' job. These abilities are very useful during battles and adds more of a strategic approach towards each battle.
I'll refrain from writing out each and every ability in each of the S, M and R lists due to my lazyness...Instead I'll just list out the ones that I find most useful, and describe what they can be used for, why, and what job to look for them in. Oh, and also, if you've played this game before, or even if you havn't... and your opinions differ from mine, keep in mind that these are only what I prefer.



Useful Reaction Abilities
Ability Useful because... Look for it in...
Counter tackle/Counter Perhaps it's because I played Vandal Hearts before FFTactics, but I find that the "Counter Tackle" ability is pretty useful (in early stages) when you have some enemy that's at 4 life or something. If the enemy attacks you...Counter tackle could be triggered and BWAHAHAHAHA...one more dead enemy. This allows you to take somewhat of a "second turn". Gilgame Heart I dunno...heh, I like this one. If your short on cash equip this on your unit/s and you will recieve the amount of damage you take in gil...unfrotunately you have to be able to take the damage too~_~...I think half the reason I like it so much is 'cuz of the cool sound it makes and the neat-o coins that fly out of the character!!! Auto Potion This ability is the coolest and most helpful! Whenever you take damage, if this is set on the unit, the unit will automatically use a Potion (the lowest one you have). This saves your chemist a turn and works more often than not! Just make sure that you have the right kinds of potion and a large stock of it!^^ Chemist
Absorb Used MP This ability is pretty useful if you like using Magi...This allows the character to absorb the MP which the enemy used to cast his/her spell. Oracle
Blade Grasp But for the exception of Bow and Crossbow, this ability allows you to evade almost every single kind of attack...especially if your characters brave points are really high...this is good if you don't have potions to spare^^ Samurai
Distribute This ability allows a character with max HP, share any extra HP with the rest of the team...I dunno, I just like it :) Calculator


Support Abilities

Ability Useful because... Look for it in...
Gained JP up! Gained JP up increases the amount of Job Points you gain in a battle...For instance, if you earned 12 JP without Gained JP up, you would earn about 16+ JP with Gained JP up equiped!^^ This is really helpful if you have set the goal of mastering ever single one of the jobs....^^;;; Squire Squire
Throw Item Later in the game, most people will not be using a chemist anymore. This ability is useful because it allows any job class to throw items over an extended range. This allows you to change your character/s into more useful jobs while still maintaining their chemist abilities^^ Chemist
Maintenance Your character becomes immune to the Knights' breaking technique. Though you should use this only when you know ahead of time that you will be battleing against knights or a character using the break techniques. Chemist
Equip Sword This is useful only for the guests that have Sword Abilities (i.e. Holy Sword, All Sword, Magic Sword, Mighty Sword). This allows you to equip a sword on the character so they are able to use their skill, while allowing them to change to more powerful jobs. Knight
Short Charge This ability should be used only for the magical^^ Basically it halves the time that it takes to cast a spell. So if you're using a Wizard and you cast Fire 4...heh...instead of taking about two turns to charge, it'll take one^^. Time Mage Time Mage
Equip Gun Allows you to equip a gun regardless of job. This is only useful if you have one of those cool elemental guns... Mediator
Two Swords Ooooooh....this one is so cool! This allows you to hit twice (carry two swords) even though you 'baint a ninja...This doubles the damage your character deals and more often than not kills the enemy right away^^... Ninja


Movement Abilities
Ability Useful because... Look for it in...
Float This ability makes it so that you float one level above the ground, water, etcetera...This is VERY useful because many-a-time you'll find yourself stuck in the 2 depth water which will make you unable to take action. With the float ability you'll be able to float above the water and attack even when your enemies are unable to.^_^ (The fleather shoes will do the same thing, and I usually use them instead....buuuut.... Move +3 This is just cool because it allows you to move EXTREMELY far, which makes it easier for you to reach the enemies that enjoy running away ~_~...Unfortunately it is only available to males ~_~. Bard



Heh, not very many of those are there (those as in Movement Abilities)^_^...Well, that's all for now, and if I take a sudden liking to one that I didn't like before, I'll stick it up^_^...
