PROLOGUE
"NO, NO, NO!" a feminine voice called out, clearly upset at the sight before her.
The men who had the displeasure of listening to the woman's commands were beginning to get weary of the routine. "Lunge like this instead of that way! I have shown you several different techniques, and still you cannot understand this?" The woman sighed as she looked to the heavens, the clouds showing no sign of going away. "I'm trying, Astea, but I don't think they understand what they want from me or Kumon."
"They think you're asking too much of them, Sayaka," came the reply from behind her. She was not startled at the voice from behind her. Instead, she sighed, looking at the samurai troops in front of her. "They do not have that special power we have."
"All I want to do is get them battle ready should another war like last year happen again Kumon," Sayaka answered. "We've been through the basic defensive-offensive attacks, and when they see the Assassin's Star, they just.... freeze."
"As I've said, they do not possess any other skills besides their attacks." Kumon placed a warm, assuring hand on Sayaka's shoulder. "Look at them," he said, smiling behind his white mouth cover. "They are samurai warriors, not ninja like us."
Sayaka looked at the troops she and Kumon were training. If indeed another war came, they needed to be prepared. They both had a substantial number of troops: thirty-five samurai to the both of them for a total of seventy troops. Following the battle with the dark god Madruk, the members of the Dragon Force and their different armies dispersed and returned to their original lives.
So it was that the minor parties went on with their lives, returning to their armies, and ruling.
Waiting.
Waiting for a time their services or soldiers may be needed again.
Sayaka and Kumon were two of the best ninja in all of Legendra. Cunning, strategic, and swift like the wind. They now returned to training their combined troops, just in prepared readiness should another war escalate throughout the continent known as Legendra.
