Annoying people.

In my Greek tragedy class there is this guy who is just a bit too...enthusiastic about reading out loud. Because if you're not reading a part in the play you're part of the chorus, he's always got a chance to read. Every day. He has this tendancy to SHOUT out his lines to be dramatic. And his voice is rather...uh...resonant in the first place. This wouldn't be so bad if we were in one of the theater rooms and projection was important, but our class is in the music appreciation classroom (because it was the only empty room in the humanities building at that time), which is a rather small HEAVILY SOUNDPROOFED room. Every time he reads you can see the whole class bracing themselves and then the collective flinch when he shouts. Given that the students (not just me) aren't amused, is it time to maybe say something to him or the teacher? I don't know, but damnit, he's so annoying that I want to skip the class.

Been listening to Move in the car to and from school and specifically "Gimme^3". Had revelation about song. The fundamental underlying rhythm is a disco beat.

That will be all.

New Toy!

The bottom of the page has been updated to reflect the fact that today I got me a Lego!Lucius and have been playing with him. I'm easily amused and have far too much lego.

The moral of the story is:
1. Don't give Katie toys.
2. Don't let Katie get bored.

Booklust.

My mother is a very special person. She'll buy me books. Not just "I think you should read this" type books. We'll go out shopping because she needs something, and she'll let me choose what I want and then pay for it (despite the fact that I can do a lot of damage to a wallet in a bookstore). Today's haul: a rather expensive paperback reprint of The Lathe of Heaven (Ursula K. LeGuin) and Dido and Pa (Joan Aiken).

Anyways, sometimes my booklust gives me the idea that I want to take all my books off the shelves, pile them on my bed, and roll around in them (think Scrooge McDuck). And then I realize that would hurt. Both me and the books. Tanzy of course being the evil enabler that she is suggested that I buy a second copy of everything in paperback for the sole purpose of rolling around on.

Damn you Tanzy. Just for that I'm stealing one of your copies of LotR for rolling around on. You won't miss it, you only have what, 3 or 4 printings?

*sigh*

Why won't some things just go away and leave my life forever. I'm feeling particularly nasty/depressed/I don't know. Things still hurt and won't go away. I want my life back.

Is nothing holy?

I'm really annoyed about the situation regarding ice cream in this house. Specifically MY ice cream that I bought. Other people have been eating my ben & jerry's by the pint. I object to this on the grounds that I paid for it. My mother ate a whole tub of One Sweet Whirled, and she doesn't even LIKE ice cream. My brother on the other hand has made two tubs of my ice cream disappear altogether. At least I'm assuming its him because the tubs never made it into the kitchen garbage. I really hate that MY food disappears like this. It's why I don't bake often, I'll spend hours baking, and by the time I try to have any, everyone else will have devoured it already. I'm annoyed.

I'm also annoyed about the whole crashing repeatedly thing while trying to blog, hence the late update here.

Pic this round is Creed, the villain from Black Cat by Yabuki Kentaro. They had chibis of all the characters as filler art in the most recent volume, and it was either Creed or Sven, I hate Creed really, he's a bastard and Sven rocks (Sven has the briefcase of DOOM! Kristi knows what I mean), but Creed just has a nicer color scheme.

The chibi demented Lisa heads are something interesting aren't they?
I told you I'd put something interesting here eventually.
