Hi! Michelle again. Here's a love story that you may like, or not like. My
friend thought it was nice, I hope you do. I wrote this one quite a while
ago, I'm just adding this note on now. At that time I was pretty steamed at
Darien for not choosing a different approach to his problem, so I wrote
this. Tell me what you think. <eoramos@ix.netcom.com>

A New Love
Michelle Ramos

"I, I, I don't love you, Serena." Darien ran away dying inside while he
left Serena standing there crying.
"Darien, come back, Darien." Serena cried. She was dying inside herself
without him. She cried harder as Serena watched him fade into the horizon.
Andrew had witnessed all of this from where they couldn't see him and felt
sorry for Serena. He walked up from behind and put a soothing hand on her
shoulder. She didn't turn around until he spoke.
"I can't believe he did that to you, Serena. Actually, I can't believe you
two were together!" he laughed.
	"You wouldn't understand, Andrew."
"Understand what?" Serena just walked away and Andrew chased after her. He
put his hand on her shoulder to stop her and turn her around. "Hey, Serena,
are you alright?"
"No, I'm not alright!" she burst out. "My boyfriend, who I love very much,
just dumped me again!"
"Do you want to talk, Serena?"
"I've talked about it enough. I don't need anymore."
"You've talked to your friends, but not to me. Come on." He led Serena to
the nearby park. They found a bench and sat down. "Now, tell me what
happened." She did while Andrew was starting to have second thoughts about
his so-called best friend. "Hmmm. Well obviously there's got to be some good
explanation for this sudden brake up. I'll ask him for you, Serena."
"Thanks, Andrew. Maybe you'll have better luck." Serena replied.

The next day, Andrew found Darien in the coffee shop. He confronted him
about the situation and asked what was going on, but didn't get very far. He
just wouldn't give a straight answer nor any clues to what just was going
on. Andrew left and went to find Serena.
He found her at the arcade with four girls playing video games. As soon as
he was next to all of them, everyone but Serena had stars in their eyes
looking foolish. Serena and Andrew slipped away to a corner and started talking.
	"Well?"
"Nothing. Darien just wouldn't give me a straight answer. I'm sorry, Serena."

"What are they talking about?" Lita asked. All they could hear were bits
and pieces of the conversation like 'Darien' and 'sorry'.
"From what I can hear its about Darien." Mina said.
"Mina, we shouldn't listen in on their conversation." Amy scolded.
"Oh, come on, Amy, this is gossip!" Raye said.

"It's okay, Andrew. Bye." Serena walked back to find three girls eager for
the word. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you."

After that, every time Darien would dump her, Serena would start crying and
run to one of her friends, especially Andrew. He would take pity on her
while he would slowly start to despise his former best friend. Eventually,
after a lot of dumps Serena stopped crying all together, which wasn't much
of a surprise to Andrew, it had been a while.
Slowly, though, Andrew and Serena grew closer and closer, while he and
Darien drifted farther and farther apart.
"So, Serena, how are you doing?" Andrew asked her one night.
"Well, I, I'm not so bad anymore. I guess I've finally excepted that he
really doesn't love me anymore." Serena said.
"That's good. Well,....have a good night, Serena. Goodbye."
"Bye." She watched him go a little before she turned and headed home. At
the same time, Andrew turned and looked at her as he never did before. There
was a little bit of passion in his eyes and he could feel it. This was not
just a normal friendship anymore. "Serena, I, I, think I'm falling in love
with you." he whispered.
"How come I feel so good when I'm with him now?" Serena asked herself.
"It's like, like I'm, I'm," she paused and thought, "I'm falling in love
with him!"

It was noon one day later. The phone rung and Serena woke up to her
mother's calling.
	"Hello?"
"Uh... Hi, Serena. It's Andrew." Her thoughts of the other night swept
through her head.
"Oh, Hi, Andrew!" she said enthusiastically.
"Could... can I talk to you?" Andrew appeared nervous to Serena.
	"Sure! So, what's up?"
"No, in person. Can you meet me in the park?" Andrew said nervously.
"Um, okay. I'll see you then."
	"Yeah sure. Bye."
"Bye." Serena hung up. 'Well, Serena, now's your chance,' she thought to
herself.

Serena arrived at the park to see Andrew was already there. Like on the
phone, he looked a little nervous.
	"Hi, Andrew!"
"Ahh! Oh, Serena, you scared me."
"Sorry. So what did you want to talk to me about?" Serena said.
"Well, um, do you, still love, him?"
'Oh no. I should have seen this one coming.' "I....don't.....no, I don't."
she blurted out.
"Okay. That's all I needed to know," he lied.
	"There's something else, isn't there?"
	"Uhhhhhhhh...."
	"Well?"
"Do you love anyone at the moment?"
'Come on, Serena, you can do this,' she thought. "Yeeeah. I guess. I just
wish I knew he loved me back." Serena looked at Andrew with hopeful eyes
that no one could hide. That gave it away.
"Serena, I love you, too." 'There you said it.'
"Oh, Andrew!" She flung herself into his arms just as she had done with
Darien. 'Maybe it'll work out better this time.'
Andrew put his hands on Serena's shoulders and pushed her away slightly to
get a look at his new love. Several feet away, Darien was walking through
the park, thinking about his problem. He noticed the couple off to the side,
not suspecting it was Andrew and Serena, and wished he could be like them.
But as Darien moved closer, he recognized his best friend and ex-girlfriend.
"What are they doing?" he asked himself. Right then and there, the two
moved in for the kiss.
The Scouts were walking up from behind Andrew, and recognized him. They
saw the arms wrapped around him.
"Hey guys, isn't that Andrew?" Mina asked.
"Yeah, he must be in love again. Mina go walk past them and see who it is
and use your communicator to tell us." Lita said.
	"Right."
Mina started walking and as soon as she was right next to them, she saw
Serena, starting to kiss Andrew. She hid the loud gasp, as she ran away.
"Guys, guys, you won't believe this!"
"Well, come out with it, Mina!" Raye yelled.
"It's, it's, IT'S SERENA!!" Mina yelled back. Everyone gasped.

"NOO!! What have I done?!" Darien shouted at himself. "I've lost her!"
Tears were forming in his eyes. "Serena! Why'd I have to listen to that
stupid dream!?" And so he ran away.

"I can't believe this! Serena would never take Andrew over Prince Darien of
Earth! Would she?!" Amy said.
"I can't understand it either, Amy," Raye replied, "I always knew that
Serena used to have a crush on him, but I never thought it would come to this!"
"Whoa, this is major, people! But do we brake 'em up or leave them alone?"
Lita asked.
"I don't know, Lita," Mina said. "Maybe we should, hey, what about Darien?"
"Let's just hope for the best. Whatever that may be." Amy hoped. Mina ran
back to the Scouts and they left.

The kiss was broken and Andrew and Serena separated. They looked into each
other's eyes for the longest moment in time.
	"I love you, Andrew."
	"Same here, Serena."
They kissed again and spent the rest of the day together. Not suspecting
they were being shadowed by a young man and four young girls.

Meanwhile, Reeny was feeling a little different. She looked at her hand and
it faded for an instance. "<gasp>What's happening?"

Darien watched with disgust as Andrew and Serena walked happily together
through the mall. They were having fun alright, too much, from Darien's
point of view. And it had only been a few hours.
As for the girls, they watched in amazement as the happy couple went from
each store to another. They still couldn't believe that the Moon Princess
didn't want her Prince. So what would happen now? Their relationship didn't
fade at all, it just grew even stronger by the minute.

It was a few weeks later, Darien was with Reeny trying to make her feel
better since she wasn't feeling good. The past few weeks had been rarely
quiet. No monsters, no Rubeus, nothing.
That's what was troubling Darien today, it was too quiet. They arrived back
at Darien's apartment, since going out wasn't doing any good for Reeny.
"Darien, I don't feel so good," Reeny complained.
"I know you don't, Munchkin. But your not sick, the doctor said so. I don't
know what else to do."
Suddenly, Reeny had that feeling again. She was feeling disoriented this
time, and glanced at her hand again. It faded. All of her was fading! In and
out. Darien gasped and tried to grab her but his hands just went straight
through her.
"Dar..." Reeny tried to scream. But then, she disappeared. Totally out of
existence.
"Reeny!!" he screamed. "What just happened?"
Everyone looked frantically for her for weeks, but she was nowhere to be
found. It was like she never existed at all. And throughout the search
everyone, would constantly forget what they were looking for. But somehow,
they'd remember, and search even harder. Until one day, it was concluded,
she was gone. Dead, maybe, or, just gone. Everybody who knew her was
miserable, but after a year or two, they forgot the pain and moved on.
Meaning, moved on.
Because 8 years later, Andrew and Serena decided to get married. Poor
Darien, his girl was lost forever. There was nothing he could do now. He
never got to strike up enough courage to tell her he still loved her, he'd
only make matters worse.
It was a big beautiful wedding. Everyone was there, even Darien. He patched
things up with the two over the years, but was never happy knowing that they
were together. The church was packed with friends, family, and some old
teammates.
The Scouts walked ahead of her clad in nice pink and white dresses. Her
father held her arm, smiling and happy that his daughter had grown up. And
she, Serena, the most beautiful thing on Earth, was wearing a beautiful
white gown wearing pretty flowers in her hair. How Darien wished he was in
Andrew's shoes.
She joined her future husband at the alter, and the priest started the
ceremony. In the backround, you could hear several people crying with joy.
The eight Scouts and Serena's mom, crying like maniacs. The priest's words
ended, the two kissed and magic spread all over the church. Darien, the
inner Scouts, and everyone else who knew Reeny, all lost their memories of
her ever being there.

In the future, in Crystal Tokyo, everyone faded in front of Queen
Serenity's eyes. The people first, then the Scouts, next her daughter, and
last her beloved Darien. She too disappeared, replaced by another Serena,
with Andrew and a beautiful baby boy.

THE END.

I guess you hate me now, huh? Except for those girls who are hopelessly in
love with Darien, and now know he's free. Isn't he cute? Thanks for reading!
