Oh, yeah, THIS IS MY STORY AND I DID NOT COPY ANYONE ELSE’S IN ANY WAY,
OKEE-DOKEE? AND DON’T MAKE FUN OF IT ‘CAUSE IT’S MY FIRST FAN-FIC!! It
takes place a couple of months before Beryl destroyed the Moon Kingdom,
and it’s basically about Serena+Darien. So sad… Well on with the story…

It was night time on the Moon as one dark human slithered ghost-like in
the shadows. He was tall, with ebony hair that fluttered in the evening
breeze and piercing navy blue eyes.
And he had a mission. Or, so he called it.
All his life, he had gazed, studied, and admired the Moon because of
the great power it wielded, despite its small size. It, along with the
two other moons, Pluto and Zitari, circled his home world, Earth.
He knew he shouldn't be there. Earth, Pluto, Zitari and Saturn had been
banned from the Great Alliance for almost a century, and due to the
treaty, any person being of those planets could not set foot on its
neighbors.
This was one reason he just had to see what went on up there. Only one
small thing held him back.
He was Darien, Prince of Earth.
  *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Managing somehow to sneak into the great hall of the Palace unnoticed,
Darien wandered among the Moonlings, Jupiterians, Martians, Venusese,
Neptunians, and Uranusese, watching them glide elegantly over the floor.
A raven-haired girl bumped into him as he passed through a doorway onto
a marble balcony.
"I'm sorry," he said, "I..." He paused. The girl's eyes were maroon and
black, full of mystery and fire. She cocked her head to the right as
though she hadn't understood a single word that he had said.
He scolded himself silently, remembering just then that the other
planets had a united language that he could only speak meagerly.
	"Nictrea, nictrea." He said again.
"Ahhh.." The girl said, nodding her head. "Xavilo. Mi carei kes Rei. Ku
troli?"
"Mi carei kes Rei." *My name is Rei* "Ku troli?..." Darien tried to
remember what he had learned during that message he had recorded and
slowly translated after eight long, tiresome months. Day and night he
had toiled over his computer screen, wondering what the two talkers
where saying.
"Ah yes," he remembered, "Ku troli meant 'And yours?' !"
"Mi carei kes Michael." he said, lying to conceal his unwanted
identity." Tro dis beritu Mars, frisjlo?(You are from Mars, right?)"
"Frisjlo" said the girl, Rei." Ghilois dis tro beritu? Neptune?(Right.
And where are you from? Neptune?)"
Darien paused. What was he going to say know?
"Aders.(Yes.)" He said, letting his eyes wander around the ballroom.
Then he saw her.
A young woman, no more than sixteen, with blond hair, swept up in two
buns with long pigtails trailing from them, was talking with another
man, and laughing sweetly. Her blue eyes seemed sad, and they sparkled a
little. She didn’t seem as if she was quite paying attention to the man.
And for a single, clear moment, their eyes met. The young woman turned
away, her face reddening slightly.
"Rei," said Darien," Deistab ellia yin(Who is that)?" He ended,
pointing to the girl.
"Las ellia Royalitea Serena(That is Princess Serena)." She said,
annoyed that he wasn't really paying attention to her. Rei opened her
mouth to say something else, but Darien had already begun to move over
to the girl.
By the time Darien had managed to get through the crowd, the man the
princess had been talking to had left.
"Thank God," he thought, "if that had been her suitor, I would've been
dreadfully embarrassed. At least now she's alone, so maybe I can talk to
her."
	 		*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Serena watched as the handsome, black-haired man came towards her.
"Who is he?" She wondered. "I've never seen him around before." As he
walked closer to her, she began to worry. "I hope he isn't coming over
to me. No, he is. What am I going to say to him?"
"Aillo." said the man, "Mi carei kes Michael." He paused, and took
Serena’s hand, kissing it gently. "Dis pirugh kes troli?" Serena
blushed, and turned her head away a little. "Lakho teh itronuy bretasi
whenarey das jadniswu (Hello. My name is Michael. And what is yours? It
must not be anything short of beautiful.)."
Serena studied the man for a moment. There was something about his
accent that set him apart. Something a little more unreal. Then it hit
her. She smiled, but didn’t say anything about it.
"Jadniswu kes itronuy hygunapre. Mai neara, neara nitei (Beauty is not
important. But thanks, thank you very much.)." Serena said to ‘Michael’.
She doubted that that was his name. "Mi carei kes Serena (My name is
Serena)."
"Diansei frih mey (Dance with me?)?" Asked Michael. Serena nodded, and
she was swept out onto the floor in his arms. He spun Serena around, and
watched the expressions of her face. First, she smiled, but it wasn’t a
real smile. He had to fix that. Darien kept dancing, and made his way to
the balcony.
Out, under the stars, set the perfect scene for the two dancers. The
soft light reflected off the silvery color of Serena’s long,
empire-waist gown. Darien, or ‘Michael’, was equally handsome in his
black tuxedo and cape. The sight would remind some of the song ‘Ebony
and Ivory’, for Serena was pale, and dressed in white, while Darien was
dressed in black, his black hair complementing the suit.
The song too, was beautiful. Only the most beautiful songs were played
at affairs such as this. From the balcony, the music was so soft and
gentle is was as though it were the breeze that was the music.
"…Love can touch us one time and last through the life time…" The song
played on. It was sad, though.
"…One true time, I hold you. In my life we’ll always go on…"
Darien pulled Serena closer to him, taking in her everything. He had
never felt like this. What was it? Could it be love? Whatever it was, it
exhilarated him, and made his heart beat faster.
Serena, though, didn’t really know what she was thinking. Part of her
was telling her that this was just another man, with affection based on
physical attraction. But, another part of her said this was different,
this wasn’t the same as all those times before, she wouldn’t be left
with a broken heart again.
"No," Serena told herself sternly, "It’s always the same. It won’t
change." With that thought trying to cover her confused self, her eyes
welled up with silent tears, and the fell on her partner’s shoulder as
softly as spring rain on the Moon.
"…We’ll stay forever this way. You are safe in my heart, and my heart
will go on and on…" continued the song.
Serena couldn’t stand it anymore. She hastily pulled away from
‘Michael’, and went to the balcony’s edge.
"What’s wrong?" Asked Darien, forgetting to speak in the united
language.
Serena turned around sharply, staring at him in a knowing way.
"I …knew it!" She stammered out. To Darien’s surprise, she knew English!
And she spoke quite fluently! "I… knew you were not from Neptune! You
are from Earth!" Serena pointed to him in an accusing fashion.
"Quickly…" she trailed off pulling him towards a set of stairs that lead
down to the Court yards.
Darien was confused. How did this Moonling know English? He didn’t think
that any of the other planets knew how to speak his first language! It
was strange.
Serena lead him to a large, walled-in garden. The door was enormous, and
it was made of a mysterious dark crystal, as were all the walls. It
stood, at least, a good twenty or thirty feet upwards, and there was no
way that anyone could see over them.
Serena pulled a small key out of nowhere and open the door. It moved so
easily, Darien thought that either the doors were made of paper or
Serena was super-naturally strong.
Inside the dark-crystal walls was a sight to behold. Everywhere you
looked, there were roses, all in a glorious bloom. Red, white, yellow,
pink, nearly black… every color a rose could be! They were all so
stunning, better than any of the ones Darien had seen on Earth. It was
their colors though. They seemed brighter somehow.
Serena took in a deep breath, smiling contentedly. She seemed proud of
her little ‘Secret Garden’.
"Why did you bring me here?" Darien finally asked, breaking the silence.
"I did not want my guardians to find you." She replied. "Luna would know
the instant that she saw you that you were a Terran, and then…" She
trailed off, looking at the distant stars.
Darien merely nodded, not saying anything. He looked around, letting
himself be taken in by the sheer beauty of the place, and of her. She
was definitely something, he thought.
Serena took a step closer to him, not really knowing why. She had just,
all of a sudden, wanted to be standing next to him, close enough to hold
his hands, or to lean against him. To touch him would be daring, she
thought, but he was so close…
She looked up at him. He was a good six or seven inches taller than her,
but that didn’t bother her. Nothing seemed to matter at that moment.
Nothing except him. An impulse passed through her, and the thought of it
made her body tremble. No, it was to straightforward. She couldn’t… or
would she?
Serena stepped closer still, heart pounding in her throat, her pulse
racing as fast as lightening. She was frightened.
Darien, now, had begun to glance around. The moment was perfect. Stars
were shining, the soft light was relaxing, the sweet scent of the roses
invaded the air, and he felt totally at ease. He didn’t think that ever
would he find a more perfect place. Such serenity…
Then, something unexpected happened. Just as Darien was going to look
back at Serena, she leaned into him, bringing their lips together,
kissing them. It was unexpected for them both, and each had their own
mixed feelings about it.
And for those few, solitary, beautiful moments, all the worlds were
right in their minds. Nothing could break the moment, they thought, it
was too perfect. But something did.
In the back of Serena’s mind, an eerie feeling passed through her, like
they were being watched. She tried to ignore it, but it pushed itself to
the front of her thoughts every time.
They broke apart, Serena quickly looking around her for a shadow, or a
rustle in the bushes. But nothing. There was nothing.
The young woman was now scared, or more precise, she was paranoid. In
her mind, there had been some one there, watching them, hearing them,
learning more with every second. Maybe there had been someone there,
maybe she had been right.
"You have to go," she suddenly urged, quickly opening the door, "You
will be killed, someone will find you." It was desperate plead.
Darien looked at the frightened girl’s eyes. They were so blue, he was
lost in them. He knew that she was right, he had known that even before
he had met Serena. Serena… the name echoed in his mind. She had begun to
push him out the door.
"All right," he said sadly, "I’ll go."
"Thank you," She answered, "I just… I do not know why… I… I just…"
Serena stammered, looking for the right words.
"You don’t want anyone to be hurt, you want to protect," Darien smiled.
Serena was still sad. "It’s okay," he said comfortingly, wiping a
frightened tear from her face, "I understand. No need to cry. Please…"
Serena shook her head. "You have to leave. It is too dangerous. Please,
go before someone finds you here! Please!" The cries were frantic.
Darien gave the girl one last swift kiss before disappearing into the
darkness of the gardens. Once he was out of sight, Serena began to make
her way back to the Palace.
"Good-bye," she whispered, looking in the direction that Darien had run
off into. Yet, somehow, she knew that their paths would cross again.
Yes, someday. Little did she know it would be so soon…
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

"Iyo, Serena!" the six girls called after the fleeing princess.
"Serena, kuy onara!(Serena, wait up!)" She didn’t halt though. Serena
knew that they had seen her. She didn’t want to hear their prying,
personal questions, or their forlorn, dreamy, insights. She wanted to be
alone for a while, to be with her thoughts. To dream about the handsome
prince of Earth.
"Serena! Serena!" They continued to call. Mina, Rei, Lita, Ami, Haruka
and Michiru had begun to pick up pace, and now the were almost beside
her.
But Serena finally arrived at her room, and quickly locked the door
behind her, therefore losing the group of girls. Nevertheless, the girls
persisted to bang and knock on the door, demanding to be let in. Serena
ignored the cries, and made her way into her room. Sitting on her bed,
she laid back sighing heavily.
It was then that she noticed something on her desk. It was a crimson
red rose, and tied to it was a piece of rolled up paper. A note.
Interested, Serena opened the letter.
		Princess Serena,
Here is a gift for you. It is beautiful, though not
as beautiful as you. I hope you like it. I will see you later? I do hope
so. Until then, farewell.
         Yours faithfully,
                          Darien
Serena sighed dreamily, and laid back onto her bed, the note clutched
tightly to her chest. He was so perfect, she thought. She loved
everything about him, it seemed. It was like it was meant to be.
Then, as she stared out of the large, bay window, she realized this
exhilarating evening had tired her out. Closing her soft blue eyes, she
went into a sweet, dream-filled, sleep.
			*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Darien was not so fortunate. His night was full of restless sleep, and
mysterious, illusory eyes watching him, and spying on him. It made him
uneasy, and nerve-wracked. He felt like he was going crazy.
He had hardly gotten his eyes closed when he heard a small, toneless
beeping coming from across the room.
"What could it be?" He asked himself. Then, he nodded to himself,
knowing that it was his communicator. He got up from his place on the
bed, deciding it would be best to answer it. He wasn’t going to get any
sleep anyway.
He picked up the small metallic device. It was about 3 centimeters
long, long enough to hide easily in his pocket. The communicator was
made of a light metal, and there were only two made: one for Darien, to
use on this mission of his, and the other for his friend on Earth,
Matthew.
Deciding it would be best to answer, he opened it, answering quietly.
"Matt, that you?"
"Yeah, how is it? You got caught yet? Are they like we thought? Did you
get any information? Meet anyone?" Matthew's voice slurred out quickly.
Matthew seemed even more excited than Darien was. "In answer to your
questions; Great, no, not even close, not really, and definitely." He
sighed.
"Ooohhhh…" Matthew teased. "Sounds like it could be serious." His tone
was mocking.
	"It is." Darien replied blandly.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Matthew asked. "Get on with it, tell
me all about her."
Darien felt himself jump back. "How did you know?"
"It was all too obvious, my friend," he explained. "You're as easy to
read as a book."
"Well, where do I begin?" Darien half asked himself. He then started to
tell Matthew his story, and all about Serena, amongst the other people
he had encountered.
"You seem quite hung up on this girl, what's her name? Serena." Matthew
commented. There was a long period of silence before Matthew spoke. "I
should go. Before someone finds out, you know."
"Yeah," was all that Darien could muster. "Talk to you later. I should
be returning in a week, or thereabouts. "
"Okay. Bye!" There was a soft click, and then eerie silence.
	Darien was alone again.
Alone, he thought. Loneliness was such a terrible thing.
Before he could think too much more about it, Serena appeared through
the door. It was dark, but as soon as she stepped into the room, and
faint glow seemed to emanate from her. It was truly an ethereal sight,
her long whitish hair flowing down, her blue eyes wide and lonely, and a
thin, silky gown hanging on her light body. She rushed in, quickly going
to Darien.
Darien looked her over. She looked like she had been sleeping for a
while, but had been abruptly awoken.
"Why are you here?" He asked.
"I had a feeling," she muttered. "I thought you might have left. I see
that I was wrong." She smiled. "I am so glad." Serena wrapped he arms
around Darien briefly.
Darien looked down at her shining eyes. They were so happy. "Did you
mean anything earlier tonight?"
Serena blushed a little, and nestled into his arms, sighing. "You mean
when I kissed you?" She asked in return. Darien nodded. Serena felt lost
staring into his eyes. They were so blue. She'd seen nothing like them
on the Moon. It was unreal to her. He was handsome, she thought, with
his black hair, and his disarming smile. Maybe that was why she had
kissed him. She wasn't sure, though. She just felt attracted to him. It
seemed so natural. Like it was meant to be…
"I do not know…" she whispered. Serena paused again, trying to think
of the right words. "Do you believe in…" she stopped again. "I do not
know what it is in your language, but here it is called 'Lyona las en
Vyenna '?"
"Love at first sight?" Darien smiled. "Yes. And Destiny. Do you
think…?" He trailed off. Serena didn't say anything, but instead drew
closer, and kissed him again.
They drew apart, lingering in each other's grasp.
"I…" Darien began. He knew what he wanted to say.
"Shh…" Serena put a finger to his lips. She knew. "Do not speak."
Serena laid her head back on his shoulder, sighing. There was no need
for words in this moment. They knew what they meant.
All the words in the worlds couldn’t explain how they felt now, so
completely, utterly, and undisputedly in love. It was truly
indescribable.
As the two lovers held each other, the cosmos themselves seemed to
revolve around them, and everything stopped in the universe. Serena and
Darien, two paths that were truly meant to connect as one, two destinies
that were simply meant to be, true lovers that righteously described the
phrase 'Love at first sight'. They were at peace.
	At least, for now…

WHOA! Congrats to whoever read this and made it to the end. I'm kinda
surprised that you didn't keel over with the sappiness of it all.
Obviously, you like it. Thanx! PART 2 will be on its way soon, like, in
a couple of months (it's only short) ! See ya then!!!
