Well, here is a fic that shall include my favorite villain, Zoisite! In this fic, Zoisite is male, although I will be using DIC names. Why? Because I can spell them. Except Rei will remain Rei. The way it was meant to be. Oh, and the Scouts are again Soldiers, because that sounds better. This takes place sometime after The seventh Rainbow Crystal is collected, but before the episode "A Crystal Clear Destiny" so Malachite might be here too, and Mina hasn't appeared yet (but she might in this fic). Oh, I'm ripping the storyline apart. So deal with it, OK? Are Malachite and Zoisite gay lovers in this fic? I don't know. There, now you have a reason to read the actual story. So read. Also, since DIC calls the Silver Crystal by 2000000 different names (Imperial, Imperium, Emperium, etc.) I have settled on Silver Imperial Crystal, and sometimes just Silver Crystal. And meatball head has been replaced by dumpling head (I think that's more faithful to the original). Also, the Soldiers all know about the Negaverse (arg, I used that name in this fic), but they don't know about Queen Beryl. The highest authority they know of is Malachite. And Forgive me, but I like the name Malachite better than Kunzite. I don't know why, I just do. The Call of Destiny Serena rushed out of detention. Just once she'd like to go home on time. Of course, that would never happen, because of the never-ending Sailor Soldier meetings. At least she could be on time for them once in a while if she'd just get up ten minutes earlier. "I'm... here..." Serena puffed as she made her presence known at the temple. "Good," Amy said. "Let's get started," Rei said. "Our first order of business," Luna began, "is Zoisite. He wants those crystals really bad. There's no telling what he will do." "Really," Serena said. "And Tuxedo Mask has two of the crystals. He won't give them to us." "Which means we have to ask ourselves if we can trust him," Lita said. "Serena, did he ever say anything to you about the Negaverse?" "Not really. I did ask him why he helped us. He said the only reason he helped us was because it kept the Negaverse from winning." "Well that's good news. At least he's not on their side," Amy said. "But he could be a lone wolf," Luna said. "Maybe he's not on anybody's side. Maybe he will fight us if we try to get the crystals he has." "Then let's not get them," Serena said. "Let's get the ones Zoisite has and see if Tuxedo Mask will fight us for them." "Do you have a death wish?" Rei asked. "Have you seen him in action?" "Not a whole lot. But he can fight pretty good." "Those roses of his are magical. It's like they're filled with a paralyzing poison or something." "Yeah, really," Lita said. "Well guys, gotta go! I got a lot of homework to do." "OK, see ya," Rei said. "I say we all go home." The remaining Soldiers departed. Rei went back into her temple. < Who's side is he on? > Darien sat on his couch. Ever since discovering that he was Tuxedo Mask, he had been having that dream more and more. Sometimes it was clearer than others. But always it was the same. Always in the end, his princess would ask for the Silver Imperial Crystal to set her free. And then he would wake up in a cold sweat, and need some air. < Who is she? And where is that Silver Crystal? > Darien knew he would get no sleep that night. The questions were nagging at him too much. He just sat on his couch, staring at his television that was not on. And thinking. The next morning, Serena awoke in time to shut her alarm off before it even began. < Whoa! What am I doing awake at this time of morning on a Saturday? There's no school today. > Then she remembered what had awakened her. The dream. In her dream, she was on a balcony, asking for the Silver Crystal from a man she couldn't make out very well. He looked kind of like Tuxedo Mask. He kept calling her princess. "Weird." Serena got up and shot immediately out of her house. She headed straight for... Actually, she didn't know where she was going. All she knew was that she was going. Serena stopped at the park. She spotted Darien reading a book. She sneaked up behind him. < This'll be good. > She smacked him hard on his shoulder. After he let out a scream as in one motion, he got up, spun around, and almost hit Serena in the throat, he suddenly stopped moving. "Hey Darien, you wanna kill me? Is that it?" "Sorry dumpling head." "Oooh! Don't call me that!" "Sorry. Hey, I was in the middle of a good book. And now you've interrupted my concentration." "Hey, sorry. I didn't know it was so important to you." "Could you just... leave me alone. I need to concentrate." Serena just looked at him for a second. She could've sworn she saw the Tuxedo Mask outfit flash on and then quickly off him. "What?" "I said leave me alone." Serena snapped back to reality. "Oh, oh, sorry." Serena walked away and Darien returned to his book. His thoughts kept coming back to Serena for some reason. Zoisite stood in a dark room with Malachite behind her. Zoisite's eyes were closed. Malachite quickly struck at Zoisite. He opened his eyes, jumped up, and landed behind Malachite. Then, he tripped Malachite from behind. "Very good," Malachite said after landing on his back. "You're learning to sense the enemy. Not just rely on vision." "Of course I'm learning," Zoisite said as he helped Malachite up. "I've got a good teacher." Zoisite noticed Malachite's uniform was yet again unbuttoned at the top. He also noticed that Malachite had not broken a sweat. "You know," Malachite said. "You keep this up and soon you'll be replacing me." "You know that will never happen." Malachite's white hair was slightly messed after the training session. "Well, this is a first," Zoisite said, noticing the messed up hair. "I got your hairdo undone." "Good job. I think you're ready to work on level 3 now." "You mean..?" Zoisite said, hope full in his eyes. "Yes. Tomorrow we start with the elementals. You're going to be able to untap your power to have deadly results." "And then I can kill Tuxedo Mask and get those crystals." "Yes. In fact, you can probably do that without the elementals." "Really?" "Of course. Why don't you give it a try. I'll send him a message." "How? We don't know who he is." "We don't need to. I'll send a message to all the Soldiers. And when they're helpless against me, cape-boy will get that message. He can somehow sense when Sailor Moon is in danger. When he shows, you can fight him in hand to hand combat." "That sounds good to me." Zoisite looked at Malachite with the vigor of a young boy on Christmas morning. "Just promise me that if things get hairy, you'll bail. I don't want to lose you." "Things won't get hairy." "Just promise me." Malachite was now holding Zoisite's shoulders. "OK," Zoisite said softly. "I promise." "That's my boy." The Sailor Soldiers were ducking, jumping doing anything to stay alive. Malachite had appeared when they were meeting at the temple, and from then on the area was a battlefield. The Soldiers had little time for the offensive. "Give it up, Sailor Soldiers! You can never win!" He sent a purple energy blast towards the group. It hit the ground in front of them, but the shockwaves knocked them off their feet. "Guys, this is not good!" Mars shouted. Suddenly, a rose flew onto the roof, right by where Malachite stood. "Ah, Tuxedo Mask. You're here! About time." "What are you saying?" Tuxedo Mask didn't notice Zoisite appear behind him. Malachite knew exactly what to do. "I'm talking about how I'm gonna kill you." Tuxedo Mask fixed his gaze on Malachite. First mistake. Second mistake, his next words. "Let's rumble." Zoisite hit him on the back of the head, knocking him to the ground. He got up quickly enough, and turned. "Zoisite, what are you doing here?!" "You wanna rumble, let's rumble!" Malachite disappeared; the Soldiers did not interest him at all at this point. Zoisite dodged every strike Tuxedo Mask threw at him. Then, he spun around, hit Tuxedo Mask across the face, knocking his hat off. The mask stayed, somehow. Without any pause, he kicked Tuxedo Mask in the one spot no man ever wants to get kicked. "AAAHH!!" Tuxedo Mask screamed as he went down to his knees. "Mars Fire Ignite!" The fireball went right past Zoisite, as he disappeared and reappeared to avoid it. "Mercury Bubbles Blast!" The area was fogged up. Zoisite couldn't see. He heard something behind him. He jumped just as Sailor Jupiter was kicking at him. Jupiter was spun around from the effort as Zoisite landed right in front of her. "Hello," he said to a surprised Jupiter before sending her flying into her friends. The fog cleared, and Tuxedo Mask was gone. "Damn!" he shouted. "Moon Tiara--." "You haven't seen the last of me!" Zoisite called as he disappeared, going back to the Negaverse. "Well, that was fun," Mars said as the Soldiers powered down to human form. "Did you get the feeling they're not after us?" Amy asked. "Like they're just after Tuxedo Mask?" "Yeah," Serena said. She had recognized the hair style after the hat had come off. She began to think about the one quick moment in the park. < Can it be? > Zoisite sat beside Malachite. Malachite was looking at the floor. "It's all right. You can kill him next time." "I was so close!" Malachite hugged Zoisite. "I'm sure you'll fight again. And with the power of the elementals, you'll be able to kill him very easily. You almost got him with plain hand-to-hand combat." "Yeah." The two broke away. "Well, guess we better go report to Beryl." "I'll report. No need for you to go." "OK." Malachite appeared before his master, Queen Beryl. She sat on her throne, looking at her crystal ball. She saw nothing in it, but still she stared. She finally did look at Malachite. "My queen, Tuxedo Mask got away in our last battle." "So he won." "Not exactly. He was forced to run. If it wasn't for Mercury, Zoisite would have--" "Enough! Just step up Zoisite's training. I want those crystals!" "Of course, my queen." Malachite disappeared. Beryl's eyes narrowed. To Be Continued... Well, what do you think? Is the storyline ripped apart enough? I thought so. Hey, what can I say? Oh, if you are curious, Venus will be introduced in this fic, but my way (maybe I'll keep some of the original introduction). Serena was given a brain in this fic, so she can figure out Tuxedo Mask's true identity. And I have a clever saying that'll be in one of the parts (maybe next time) about feelings. I hope you'll like it, cause I stole it from The Love Boat: The Next Wave. See you next time!
