"there's nothing here!!" sighs Marle, digging through rocks.
"it's gotta be! this is the only way out and to the End of Time." said Crono, not giving up.
Ayla stare at the volcanoes that surrounds the Tyrano Lair. the lava inside is rising..
"this bad. Lava rising, getting hotter and hotter." whisper Ayla
"the volcanoes may erupt any time. we have to go, Crono." said Lucca
"OH C'MON!! don't be a quitter, Lucca. I KNOW IT'S AROUND HERE!!" said Crono.
"stubborn." sighs Lucca, "?"
[BRRROOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM]
[THE GROUND SHAKING]
"IT'S ERUPTING!!!" freaks Marle.
[BOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!]
they all freaks out and were pushed into the lava... luckily, Crono hold onto the edge. Marle, Lucca, and Ayla hold on to Crono.
"THIS IS BAD!!!! REALLY BAD!!!!" freaks Ayla.
"IT'S TOO HOT HERE!!!! GOT US OUTTA HERE CRONO!!!!!" shouts Marle.
"I CAN'T!!! YOU ALL ARE TOO HEAVY!!! I CAN'T GET UP!!!!"
"what do you mean by "heavy"??? are you saying we're fat?" murmurs Marle.
Crono freaks out, a big sweat on his head, "OF COURSE NOT!!!!! IT'S JUST A...EXPRESSION!!!!"
"hello...??? i hope you don't mind me interrupting...BUT WE'RE GONNA GET FRIED!!!!!" freaks Lucca
"AYLA!!! CRONO!!!" Kino comes.
"KINO!!! STAY BACK!!!" shouts Ayla.
"KINO, GO GET SOME ROPE FOR US!!!!" shouts Crono.
Kino nods, and runs into the woods.
"well well guess who say "we're gonna be fine" and "just leave it to me"..WELL, MISTER!!! YOU JUST LEAD US TO A DEAD END!!!!" shout Lucca, being sarcastic.
"SORRY!!! KINO IS GETTING US SOME ROPE, WE'LL BE FINE."
"rope?" Ayla blinks, "what is 'rope'???"
they all blinks, and freaks out completely.
"I'M GONNA KILL YOU CRONO!!!!" freaks Lucca.
"WE'LL BE FINE!!!"
"IF YOU SAY THAT AGAIN, I'LL THROW YOU INTO THE LAVA!!!" freaks Marle.
Crono begin to slip... and he did.
"[SCREAMING]"
they were about to fall down to the lava...but in a sudden, someone gave Crono a hand.
"C'MON!!!!!" shout the stranger. Crono didn't hesitate, and hold onto the stranger's hand. the stranger uses all his strength and pull them all out from the lava pit.
"[BREATHING] we're saved..!!" whisper Marle.
"what a stupid act!! do you want to die or something??" said the stranger.
"hey..i know that voice...MAGUS!!!!!" freaks Crono.
the stranger is Magus.
"WOW!! you saved us all, Magus!! you are kind!!" smiles Marle.
"..." Magus shakes his head, "FOOLS!! i didn't save you because i wanted to...i need to talk to you."
"talk?" said Lucca, "that's it? you saved our butts from being BBQ just to...TALK???"
"where Kino?" asks Ayla.
"that skinny boy? he ran into the woods, searching for something...now, i need to talk to you, PRIVATELY." said Magus.
it is midnight.
they stayed at Ayla's hut...
"so how did you get here?" asks Crono, as he stuff himself with chicken and every thing.
"the same way you got here. i was pulled back from the explosion."
"maybe Crono is right, this is NO coincidence." said Lucca, thinking.
"MAYBE??? I WAS RIGHT!!" freaks Crono.
"so what do you think of the ship?? do you want to join us to battle it?" asks Marle.
"battle??? you can't even get near it!! before the explosion, i felt the black wind again..the same one i had when i was little...but this is one is twice as strong..and terrifying. this is no easy task if you want to destroy it."
"do you mean...LAVOS???" whisper Crono.
they all are silent.
"not again.." whisper Marle, sad.
"do you think we can defeat it?" asks Crono.
"no chance. it's just too strong. we don't know if it's Lavos, but whatever it is, it's sucking up all life energy from our planet..for some purpose. the only thing that can destroy it is the legendary Star Ruby." explains Magus.
"ruby?" blinks Ayla.
"i heard of that legend before...i don't know where...but i just know i heard of it when i was just a little child.." whisper Crono...

long ago, when the Earth was formed, there was 2 worlds. one of them is this one, the world where time and space continues on and on...and life was everywhere...the other one, called the Golden World, is full with magic, a prosperous kingdom where time does not exist. The monster started to destroy the beautiful Golden Land, until nothing is left. The king tries to protect his young son, but the devils are just too much for him to handle. with no choice, he must bring his son to safety...and the only way to do it is to send him to Earth. that's the only way his son could live happily..and safely. The king sends his son to Earth, but before he did, the king gave him the pendant for protection..the pendant that can control time and space, and power, the only pendant that controls the Golden Land's time. with his last breath, the king sacrifice himself to seal the gate between the Golden World and the Earth, making sure that the evil from his world won't spread it to Earth....."
explains Crono, "The gate won't last forever, unless the key completely hidden away. i heard that there are 3 keys that opens the gate...the Silver Key of Friendship, the Golden Key of Power, and the Crystal Key of Love. they were separated and hidden in different time and place.."
they all hesitates..
Magus pull out something...a silver key, "i got the Silver Key of Friendship."
"WHAT/?!!!"
"HOW???" asks Marle.
"..." Magus lowers his head, "i found this when i was little...before the kingdom collapsed. someone helped me find it..." then he shakes his head, "LET'S JUST FIND THE REST OF THE KEYS!"
"how?? we don't know anything about them..or where they are hidden." said Lucca.
"OLD MAN KNOW!!!! GURU OF TIME!!!" shout Ayla.
"OKAY AYLA!!! you don't have to shout..!!" whines Crono.
"then that's where we'll be going next..now it's midnight, i want to rest.." whisper Magus, and sleeps to the dark corner away from his allies.
"...'I'..?? how selfish.." murmurs Lucca.
then they all go to sleep.
Magus sits up, staring at the key...thinking..and went back to sleep.
"hmm...i wonder where Kino now?" whisper Ayla, and sleeps.
[crickets chirping]
Kino is still in the woods, searching for the rope..
in the ship...princess shade walks up to her brother.
"ahh...Shade, you're the person i just want to see." smiles her brother, and stare at outside, the trees and plants were all dead.., "just look at it, Shade. this is great!!! way better than any other planets we conquered. i knew that Earth has enough life energy to offer our Lord."
"Artemis, this has to stop. we have what we came for, now can we leave?"
"nonsense!! we still have more life to drain from. i'm still sure there are survivors out there..especially the one that keeps the pendant. I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!!" said Artemis, "with it, we're immortal!!!! Not only we can rule all evil, but even time!!!! and the Golden Land..."
"brother..."
"i need that pendant, sister. i want you to find it for me...kill the owner if you wish."
"...all right.." whisper Shade. she and her falcon disappears..
in the next day, Magus lead Crono and his friends to a Time Gate.
Marle jumps up in joy, "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! it was here all along!! is that how you get here, Magus?"
Magus ignores her.
"at least someone knows where the gate is..somewhere that is not HOT." murmurs Lucca.
"HEY C'MON GUYS!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!" chuckles Crono, "let's go already!!"
the gate opens..
"AYLA!!!!" shout Kino, running to her, "ME GO WITH YOU!!"
"it's best for him to come with us. remember that Gaspar say that more than 3 travelers ends up in the End of Time?? the more come with us, the greater is our chance to get there!" said Lucca.
"ME BRING ALL AYLA PEOPLE!!!!" shouts Ayla.
"NO!!!!" freaks Crono, "sorry Ayla, that's not what Lucca mean..exactly."
"can we go NOW???" murmurs Magus.
they all enters, including Kino.
"then what about Frog?" asks Marle.
"i'm sure he'll find the gate." said Lucca.
then the gate closes..
