Final Fantasy 3 hint page

Aside from the thousands of stealable weapons, FF3 holds some other secrets

The Walkthrough has a list of HP, MP, weaknesses, etc. for all enemies, so I won't waste my time ;) If you are worthy of a hint, E-mail me with it.

Try making moogles! If you bet a Fenix Down at the Colliseum, you'll get a Name Card. If you put the moogle suit on Strago or Relm, they will look just like a moogle. Now, with the card, rename either of the two! Kupop, Kupo, and names like that are enforced. Have fun!

(This is ChronoEspeon's hint!) - Even you can get a Paladin Shield! In the World of Ruin, use Locke to break into the houses. In one, you'll find a person that'll give you the Cursed Shield. Wear the Cursed Shield for 255 battles, and it will turn into the Paladin Shield, which can teach Ultima at a 2x rate with the Ragnarok Esper. However, the Cursed Shield inflicts the wearer with all the bad conditions, so wear a Ribbon to counter all of them except for Condemmed.

Turn Edgar into the mighty Leo! Near Jidoor, in the World of Ruin walk around with Relm and Edgar (plus any other 2) in your party. If you find a group of three (3 exactly and no other enemies) Intangirs and have Relm sketch on the one farthest away. After defeating them, check out Edgar. There is a chance he has turned into Leo, with his amazing shock!

Make Gau use shock! There is indeed an enemy, rageable, that can use shock. His name is the Retainer, and baby, shock rules.

Far Out!

Ride Magitek Armor! On the Triangle Isle, sketch on an invisible enemy (the big one that gives you 10 magic points) until you succeed. Be warned, this may screw up your game, and you can't get into the airship this way!

(Sent in by ChronoEspeon!) - In the World of Ruin, on the soliatary island where Cid's house is, there is a desert. There you can encounter EarthGuards, sandray creatures. Use Locke's Steal ability to steal Megalixers from them before they self-desruct!

Save Shadow! On the floating continent, run up to the airship. When it asks you if you want to jump or not, select No. Wait until the timer is about on 5 seconds, and Shadow will come running up! Close call. You can find him in the colleseum by betting the Striker.

Smarter than the average....something...

Find the esper Raiden! In the World of Ruin, find Figaro Castle. Walk inside and ask the person to go underground and to the next town. You will stop, and have a choice to get out of not. Get out, and walk inside, and get the esper. Walk over to the chair, and take 5 steps down, and hit A. A door will open, and inside, you will find a dragon and the esper you got will change to Rayden by touching the statue. The dragon DOES NOT need to be killed. There is a Scholar in Figaro Castle that tells you the secret, without his even knowing.

(Sent in by Chrono Espeon!) - You can get Magic Points very easily in the World of Balance. First, you need the airship. Using the auto-map, you can see a tiny, triangle-shaped island. Fly there, land, and make sure you have Gau in your party, and even more, make sure he has the Rhodox Rage. You will occasionally find Intangirs here, invisible, powerful monsters. However, don't attack it, once you find one. Have Gau use his Rhodox Rage, and he'll eventually use Snare, killing it in one blow easily, and with no retaliating. They give 10 Magic Points, and it is great for learning magical spells from Espers.

Defeat SoulStealer with no mess! You can really, really easily defeat the SoulStealer dudes when you sleep in Doma Castle and enter Cyan. Just cast X-Zone, and both of the figures will die. If you don't have it, what you must do is kill one of your members, don't bring him or her back, and destroy the boss. If you bring the dead person back, you must re-kill him AND kill another member. Tough battle without X-Zone. Use Vanish on the figures for extra accuracy, if you like.

(This is ChronoEspeon's hint. Yeah, I actually forgot to include it myself. O_O ) - Many monsters can be eliminated with two simple spells: Vanish and Doom. First use Vanish on the unlucky monster, then use Doom. Vanish makes Magic 100% unavoidable, so the monster will be killed instantly. This even works on the Dragons, and Atma! It even works on most bosses!

Steal some strong armor! In the beginning of the game, when Locke and the moogles try to save Terra, you can disaequip Mog and get a MithrilPike (great for Edgar) and a MithrilShield (good defense)!

Repel all enemies! In the World of Ruin, check the wall right where Mog was standing and you will find the Moogle Charm. Put it on, and no monsters can attack you on the overworld areas!

3-D rukes!
