Wow.. it's dark. And cold.
And for once you have 4 people in your party!!!! YAY! Well, walk into the room... oo, old geezer guy. Go through the boring talking, and head north to learn magic.
Crono now possesses Lightning, Lucca possesses Fire, Marle possesses water (more specifically, Ice). Robo.. doesn't get magic! Noo!! Fortunetly, he learns Shadow type attacks. Yay! I wonder if Frog can learn magic? I doubt it.. he looks too pumped for that. Though it would be funny to see him with water.. heh heh, water.. frog? Get it? Oh, NM. Anyway, beat up Spekkio with magic. Keep coming back to this place, and Spekkio will evolve into harder enemies! He'll give you better items as you graduate, too.
Well, talk to Gasper, and head into the portals on the left. Head back to 1000 A.D... Medina Village.
Medina Village, 1000 A.D.
Wow.. this place is creepy. It's got monsters and stuff.. only the two in the house you came from aren't completely anti-humans. Well, you can beat up the Innkeeper and get a room for the low low price of 200 GP! Or you can beat up the shopkeeper, and get great deals on vital items, such as the ever valuable tonic for barely over 6 and a half thousand GP! They've got actually pretty good weapons, but don't buy any! By the time I get here, I have something under a fourth of how much those swords cost. Ignore 'em for now-you get 'em free later anyway. The Inn might not be a bad idea.. okay, maybe it is, since you can go to the End of Time and recover for free. Go west to Melchior's house.
Melchior's House, 1000 A.D.
Melchior... Melchior.... oh yes, that guy from the fair! Well, this time, you can afford his weapons, so buy his best. The Red Katana adds some speed to Crono.. or was it Special? Well, it adds something special. Hmm, Melchior, a weapon maker, is anti-weapon.. how strange. ? Oh, a clue.. head to Heckran's Cave to get home? All right!
Heckran's Cave, 1000 A.D.
Hmm... easy fatsos trying to guard the entrance. Gotta love this game. Beat 'em up as easy as you are. Oh, yes, and BTW, your group should probably be Crono, Marle, and Lucca. Robo simply relies more than attack than special, which is what you'll need here. Half the enemies are totally resistant to attacks! Well, anyway, there's nothing of extreme noting here. Note than almost every single enemy is weak against magic, and strong against attack, which is where Marle and Lucca finally get to shine. Note that Slash is not a magic attack, but it works pretty well on these enemies. Lightning does more damage, if you can hit 2 or more people with Slash, use that. If you can't stand Marle or Lucca, switch her, but make sure you reswitch by the save point. Eventually, you'll crash into..
Boss Battle: Heckran
This guy is such a snap. Have Crono use Lightning, and Marle and Lucca can use Antipode. If you IGNORED MY ADVICE *growl* and put Robo in your group, he can heal, use Laserbeam, and Marle/Lucca can use Fire/Ice. Heckran is so easy. If you NEED to, have Marle and Crono use AuraWhirl a bit, but usually you'll be fine. Enter the portal and.. voila! You're home!
Truce Village, 1000 A.D.
Yay! Home!! Kiss the sweet grass!!! Stop by home first. Aww... your poor mom was practically in trauma, so sad about you...how heartbreakingly beautiful! Well, she's relieved now. ^^ Yay!! Take a nap upstairs. Don't worry, there's enough room in the bed for all 3 of you. Somehow.. err, no dirty thoughts, please. Go across the street to the K-mart and.. well, remember Fritz? The guy you saved from the guillotine? He and his girlfriend will give you _10_Mid_Ethers_!!! Daang!!! Well, anyway, this mystery ain't over yet. Head over to the portal in the fair, and travel back to the end of time.
End Of Time
Dangit, I just deleted all this on accident. ^^() Well, I guess I gotta redo it. :) Well, you can switch characters here.. but you can do that with Y anyway! Mwa ha ha >:) Well.. hmm.. what next is there to do? Nothing's wrong in 1000 A.D. You just came from 2300 A.D. Hmm... maybe something's up in 600 A.D.? Let's check it out.
Truce Village, 600 A.D.
Well, nothing seems wrong.. oh wait, the bridge is repaired. Yay! ^^ Hmm.. soldiers are blocking the way. Maybe the commander can help you out.. hmm.. he tells you the soldiers are starving. Well.. think..
Where would food be? They only sell Tonics and Ethers in the shop, and there's only a few houses-not enough to feed a whole army. Hmm.... what about.. Guardia Castle?
Guardia Castle
Sprint through the forest and arrive at the Guardia Castle doors. Well.. the beds to the left are all filled up, and the restaurant on the right, the girl is too busy.. umm.. watching the cook to feed you. Talk to the chef about 3 times, and he'll tell you he's the mility leader's brother. Ya-hey, wait, he's not giving you any food. Umm....dang. Now what? Let's go talk to the king.. maybe he can help.
Screech! Huh?! Oh, the chef stopped you. Hey, he gave you, not only a tab, but some beef jerky! This is perfect!! Get back to the bridge.
Zenan Bridge
Took me a good 10 minutes to remember this name.. but here it is. Perfect! The commander accepts your jerky gratefully. Hmm... man, we're getting creamed. :\ What's that? The commander asks if you'd like to help! Wow, what an awesome idea!! Send out 3 teenagers or 2 teenagers and a rusty robot 301 years old to do a job that an entire army couldn't! Yay! Well, say yes, and he'll give you a nice Gold Helm that only Crono and Robo can wear. Oh well, it's better than nothing.
Go left and beat up the Descendents. They are SO easy. Easy works well but anything creams 'em. Ha! Ozzie's in a dead end! >:) Let's cream him! Err.. wait.. the skeletons are coming together.. aww, man -_-() This can only be a...
Boss Battle: Zombor
Yay. The top is weak against Fire, and the bottom is weak against Ice. Now, if you chose Robo, that's okay! Use Robo Punch to who the other character is. If you have Marle, she'll be using Ice on the bottom. Use Robo Punch on the top! If you have Lucca, she'll be flaming the top. Use Robo Punch on the bottom! If you have Marle and Lucca, well, Ice the bottom and Burn the top! Crono should Cyclone. If you need healing, no problem-just use Aura! It's a much better idea to kill the top half anyway-after you defeat the bottom half, it uses MP buster which steals all MP from one character. After you defeat Zombor, continue to Dorit-I mean, Dorino village.
Dorino Village, 600 A.D.
Don't sleep at the Inn! It's cheaper in the town to the south. Well, nothing much here. Fiona's Villa will play a very important role later in the game, though. Head south.
Porre Village, 600 A.D.
Hmm.... everyone's talking about the Hero returning. Who would that be? People say a young person.. very young. Some think him a brat! How strange..well, nothing of interest here.. let's head back.. err.. do those mountains.. look.. strange? It can only mean.. dun dun dun! Exploration time!
Dondoran Mountains, 600 A.D.
Vibrant.. colors.. ack! Well, don't look too closely at the orcs. Trust me. There's certain.. things.. that slipped by translation. Let's ignore that and move on. ^^() Well, here comes some little scared kid.. followed by a Goblin. Kill it, easy, eh? Well, then the kid comes back.. and then you see an Ogan. Kill it.. umm.. why are you barely doing any damage? Try MAGIC! Lightning, nope. Ice, nope. Fire.. hrm.. it's HAMMER burned! Now it's as weak as a Goblin.. mwa ha ha. >:) Using Flame Toss works well here. Better have Lucca!
Well, proceed up the mountain. In one evil area, you fight a battle.. then go into another battle.. then go into another.. and another. I hate that part :P Anyway, when you come to the waterfall, you may wanna go to it's west side and.. jump off! You'll get some great armor. You have to climb back up, though. Fortunetly, those 4 consecutive battles won't be back. Well.. er.. not much to say. Keep looking for a secret area on the east wall with a weapon for Robo! Also, don't get hit by rocks. Wow, that was smart.
Oh, yes, and remember the little white Spekkio guy? He's a fluffball. If you talk to him, he talks about the mountains. Keep talking to him to get a magic tab! Well, once you reach the point of no return (fortunetly, the save point is BEFORE it) and fall off the lader (why can't you JUMP up??), you'll have to enter... a cave. Oo.. just a cute little boy. He's.. the wind. I wonder what he eats? Ah we-A SWORD!! Yay!! Run up to grab it.. and the kid stops you. What? WHAT? Yes, you want the sword! His big brother comes out and they try to beat you up. Except now, they're greenish-yellow weirdos in aprons. Okay.
Boss Battle: Masa and Mune
Easy. Simply aim on one guy. Robo shall heal if you don't have Marle, but he won't need to heal much. If you have Spincut (or better, IceSword or FireSword), use it! You only need to kill one of the two to beat this battle. Robo Tackle (or Punch..) can help, too. Wow, that boss was way too easy! Good thing, too. Because.. now.. he's.. VERY.. VERY.. BIG!!!!
Boss Battle: Masamune
Okay, actually, he's not that hard. Here's the deal-if you don't have Robo, have Marle heal, and Lucca and Crono will keep up a steady Firesword pace (or Fire and Lightning/Spincut, if you don't have Firesword). If you got Robo, Robo Punch or Robo Tackle only when you'll fully healed. Now, when he sucks in tornado energy.. have Lucca use fire and Crono use Slash-this diminishes the stored energy.
Hrm.. that wasn't too hard, you say with about 3 HP left per character. Well, grab the masamu-err...hmm..actually, it's only the first half of the masamune. Well, take the free ride back to the village.
Porre Village, 600 A.D.
Well, nothing too new... except.. there's that kid.. TATA?? THAT'S the hero? Well, he gives you the Hero Badge.. I wonder.. who is the real hero? Well, wander around.. say... look at that forest.. I wonder what's inside..
Cursed Woods, 600 A.D.
Hrm, the snakes here attack the T'poles.. how strange. Sometimes you can see a Nu here that says, "Stop that you dog".. err.. okies. Nothing here.. wait.. did that bush just move? Let's examine it.. hey, a ladder on the backside! Let's climb down.
Hmm, a tidy, well kempt home with a MagicScarf. I guess the person who dwells here wouldn't mind. What's in that other basket?
AHHH!!!! Oh.. wait.. it's just Frog! Phew. :) Didn't that scare ya? Hrm.. he won't accept the Hero's Medal, and he's afraid of the king in danger.. poor guy has no self-esteem! Oo, he moved.. steal his treasure!! >:)
Huh? The Masamune's other part... well, if you have Lucca, she deciphers it.. with Robo.. it's... R-O-I-H-C-L-E-M?! Oh.. backwards.. Melchior? That guy in 1000 A.D.? Hmm.. let's check it out. Go to the portal in Truce Canyon.
End Of Time
Go to Medina Village, 1000 A.D. Wow, what a waste of bold print.
Medina Village, 1000 A.D.
Well, Melchior don't know anything.... not! I think this guys gotta secret. But the sword cannot be mended without the old red stone.. and that's been gone for millions of years. I wonder if that other portal at the End of Time..
End of Time
Wow, all the way back to over 65 million years ago?? I'll bet you'll find a LOT of red stones all the way back then! Let's check it out!
Mystic Mountain, 65,000,000 B.C.
Now I gotta type all those 0's everytime you're here.. maybe I'll just do 65 mil. Mm, nah. Well, now you get to beat up lizards. Easy. Then a chick comes along, saving you from some of the lizards, and then you have to fight some more. Easy. Then she introduces herself as Ayla.. and tells you to go to town. Ea-err, NM.
Iota Village, 65,000,000 B.C.
Anyway, this place doesn't have running water, plumbing, or ANYTHING fun. But it does have sweet water that magically restores you. And good armor. Well, talk to the villagers.. they're being.. tormented! By...evil..lizards! Oh well. Go meet Ayla at her house. Or.. rather, hut. Have Marle in your party, definetly. Then you get to PARTY!
Village Square, 65,000,000 B.C.
I recommend having Marle because she teaches you to DANCE! Robo and Lucca just talk. Anyway, talk to all the people, and occasionally to Ayla and your friends. I like dancing! Anyway, after the people drive you crazy with their oomba munga meeples and dancing with wind people, you get to.. *dun dun dun* BATTLE AYLA!.. in a soup competition. Tap A quickly and you'll win her super special.. ROCK! Then you get to sleep. And when you wake up, you've been robbed. Yay. Go see Ayla.. and she'll join you. Well, now where to? Hmm.. explore around town?
Oh, cool, a trading post! Maybe you can trade some tonics or.. err.. they want.. what? Fangs? Petals? Horns? Feathers? You can get them at the.. Hunting Range? North of town.. let's check it out!
Hunting Range, 65,000,000 B.C.
Well... easy enemies, good XP, and nice armor. I LOVE this place. When it begins to rain, the enemies leave-try to find the Nu. He gives you 3 Horns, 3 Petals, 3 Fangs, and 3 Feathers! He has two attacks.. one takes all but one HP away, the other does 1 HP damage. So if you keep healed above 1 HP, you probably won't die. After you beat him for the first time, you get the Third Eye, which doubles Evade. You can keep fighting him, but you have to keep re-enterering. Well, buy the different stuff from the dude.. here's what you can get:
A Petal and a Horn gets you the Sage Bow for Marle.
A Petal and a Feather gets you Robo's Stone Arm.
A Petal and a Fang gets you the Ruby Gun, for Lucca.
A Fang and a Horn gets ya the Flint Edge, Crono's weapon!
A Fang and a Feather gets you a Ruby Vest, who all can equip (although Ayla already has one).
Finally, a Horn and a Feather gets you the Rock Helm which everyone can equip (but again, Ayla's a step ahead).
Well, now U R Buff! (newbie power!) Maybe.. head south? You gotta explore somewhere... check the forest?
Forest Maze, 65,000,000 B.C.
You, Ayla, and probably Robo should be here now... hey, it's Kino. Go through the long cinema scene in which Ayla cruelly abuses Kino and sends him to bed with no supper, and run into the maze. We gotta find that key! Well, the enemies aren't that hard. Ayla should probably already have Kiss, and tie this with Robo's healing spells, you should be alright. If your third char gets weak, switch him or her! The obnoxious birds that change color are very annoying, but if you happen to get a critical hit, they'll die in one hit. If you hit them with an attack, and don't knock 'em out, they fully recover (won't happen after the first time, though) and become stronger. :\ Oh well. Nothing really special here. After you exit the maze, use a Shelter if you need, and enter the cavern after saving.
Reptile's Lair, 65,000,000 B.C.
Already, you're greeted by lovely enemies within your first few rooms. Well, the reptiles are easy, and the blue guys are too, but the dinos could give ya a problem. Here's what ya do-cast a Lightning spell on them. Their defense falls to almost nothing. Still, they have high HP.. watch out for 'em. In one room, you'll come across some mushrooms, and the path will lead up. From there, you have a choice to go up, or go left. Don't go LEFT! And if you do, don't go down the ladder, or you'll have to navigate the entire lair again!! Oyo Pollo! Okay. I don't want to BORE you with a full walkthrough of the lair, so I'll go to.. Azala! I hate this guy. He steals your key, calls you monkeys, and sends out his "son" after you. Yay.
Boss Battle: Nizbel
ZAPPY ZAPPY! Use a lot of Lightning attacks and you'll do great. Volt Bite, if you have it, works well. Robo can heal or attack. Marle can heal or attack. Lucca can attack or attack. *nods* Lots of variety, eh? Well, Nizbel's not too hard, although those electrical discharges, besides making your hair stick up, hit all three members. After you defeat this all-brains-no-brawn loser, Azala drops the key and runs. Tell me, why didn't he just run and KEEP the key, thus stranding you here forever? Oh well. Now you can head back to the End of Time, red stone in han-err, inventory.
End Of Time
Check on Spekkio. If he hasen't change, ignore him, but if he's in a different form than when you first met him, fight with your best magic users (probably Crono, Lucca, and Marle). If ya lose, don't worry :) You can come back later. Head to Medina Village.
Medina Village, 1000 A.D.
Yi Yi Yi Yipee Yi Yay! -N'sync. Finally, no more having to type 65,000,000 B.C.! Head to Melchior's Hut.
Melchior's Hut, 1000 A.D.
Well, either Robo or Lucca will help Melchior out. It's fun to watch. Five minutes later, the Masamune is complete! Hmm.. well.. Frog had the hilt of this legendary blade. I wonder if he knows something about it? You know where to go. ;)
Cursed Woods, 600 A.D.
It's just so much quicker than having to do, "End of Time", then "Truce Canyon", etc ;) Anyway, hand the sword over to Frog.. and he'll.. let you spend the night. Go through the heartbreakingly beautiful cinema scene, and when you wake up, Frog will assist you on your quest to slay Magus! YAY! Of course, Crono gets to stay in the group, so you have to choose between Robo, Marle, and Lucca again... hey, I just got a crazy idea. What if.... what if Frog could learn Magic? Let's try it!
End of Time
Talk to Spekkio. Since Spekkio's a funny guy or something, he gives Frog Water magic. GET IT? FROG? Water?! Bwa ha ha ha! Ahem. Frog has water magic, but half of it consists upon healing. Most of it is just physical, anyway. He's sort of like Marle. Except he actually does damage. He he.
Magic Cave, 600 A.D.
You walk up to the cave, and somehow open it by sticking a sword into the ground. Riiight. Well, the bats are easy. Those rats are pesky. At the end of the cave, you find.. OH MY GOD!! It's a CORPSE! With a letter written in blood.. eww. Wonder what he used to write it. And how he wrote it lying face down on the floor. And where he got the paper. And how he got there. And if Magus killed him, why isn't he at Magus's castle? Oh well.
Magus's Castle, 600 A.D.
The large doors open in front of you, scattering bats all over. Frog has the Masamune, and the Hero's badge on. And he's ready to defeat his rival.
Magus.
