The Sega Reistance is actually nothing more than a group of fans declining the way people ignore the quality of most of Sega's games, while getting excited from games on other platforms (Such as Sony's and Nintendo's), while very few of those games are worth looking at.
No, I'm not saying all PSX games stink, and I don't think Nintendo can't make good games without a CDROM Drive, but the point is, that Sega just make better games!
But then there is a question: "If so, why don't Sega games and systems sell better?"
This article is just about to answer that question and also change this situation. Read further.
Problem #1: Sega's marketting STINKS!
Yes. Sega know how to make good games, and how to build good systems, but it seems they just can't make the public know how good those products are.
Solution #1: Try to do the job yourself!
Many people don't believe in the ability of the "small man" to scratch the balls of a huge company such as Sega. Actually, neither do I. But nobody is asking you to. Your job is just to let people understand why Sega's games are better than the others, and why they sould get a Saturn instead of a PSX or a N64. It can be done easily with certain people, and can be more difficult with others, but you're asked to do what you can - not more and not less.
Problem #2 - Lack of 3rd Party Publishers.
I think this problem occured only with the Saturn, as both the Master System, the Genesis, and the Sega CD had a descent amount of games by a large variety of 3rd Party Publishers (Excuse me for not mentioning that creepy 32X). The reason for companies to stay away from the Saturn is probably its complicated and messy architecture. Sega did make a good system, but comparing it to the PSX, for example, it's much harder to program games for. This is why the PSX gets more exclusive titles. The companies are either just lazy to program the game for the Saturn, or it just doesn't pay off for them to program for the Saturn, while they can program the same game for the PSX in less time, less money, and the PSX has more users.
Solution #2 - Petitions!
Don't you feel shitty because you have a Saturn, and you know that Final Fantasy 7 is a PSX exclusive? Let SquareSoft know about it! As I said above, an opinion of a single man, or even of 500 or of 1000 people would probably not even scratch either Sega's, Sqaure's or any 3rd Party Publisher's balls. It's just not the big bucks they're looking for. In order for them to realize it'll worth more money to them, it's got to be something bigger, like a petition of a few thousands of people.Problem #3 - The world is PSX biased!
Solution #3 - Be there, and defend your opinions!
Got some free time? Play your Saturn.
Got some more? Try one of those:
And try to be creative on that.... There are surely plenty of things I haven't thought of. ;)
