descriptions

Syntax: description
description +
description -

Sets your long description to the given string. If the description string starts with a '+', the part after the '+' is appended to your current description, so that you can make multi-line descriptions.

'Desc ' by itself will reset your description to that single string.
'Desc + ' must be used to append to the first line.
'Desc - deletes the last line of your description.

Descriptions are mandatory here, no exceptions. Your description defines who you are in this vast world, and without one, or without a suitable one, you might as well be a tree, or a building, because no one will be able to tell the difference save for the equipment you are carrying.

Your description should give an image of yourself, what you look like to someone looking at you, first and foremost. When you write a description, ask yourself, "If I were looking at myself, what would I see?" That should be your physical description.

Your description may also include your philosophy, and the role that you play here. HOWEVER, do not overwhelm us with a life story or a long story about how you got that distinctive scar on your right cheek. Things like that should be asked about, not displayed in a description. Don't put actions in your description (such as stealing from or killing whoever is looking at you). If an Immortal looks at you and as a result is robbed or killed, you are liable to suffer for it.

Descriptions SHOULD be completed by the 5th rank, and anyone of the 20th rank or higher found without a description, or without an acceptable one, will be dealt harshly with. Acceptable descriptions can be written using one to two paragraphs. If you are caught attempting to murder someone and you don't have a description, you will be very sorry you neglected to write one. The gods will not be merciful.
