ANCIENT:

Immortal Leader: Emperor Nebhotep, Serpent Lord of Darkness

Mortal Leader: ??????

Long ago, in the times of myths and dreams, the Great Lord of the Abyss, Styx Bavarakis forged the House of Ancient to act as agents of his greatness. These Ancients would seek out and destroy those whom were deemed unworthy of life, or those whose corruption was beyond reproach. Many years have passed, and many people have since exchanged leadership of the house. And for a long time, the house wallowed in fractured destitution....

Until now.

Upon the loss Ricmeant, a new force has taken control of the house. Emperor Nebhotep, darting from the Nether Regions of the universe, has grasped control of the wayward house for his own dark purposes. His ultimate goal: The enslavement of all Therans. However, for now, he contents himself with directing the actions of the House of Ancient.

What is the House of Ancient?

Far removed from its previous days, the house has become an excessively secret organization. Members of the house perform their duties by donning a dark cloak, concealing their identity, and then, using stealth and dark strength destroy people who have had a bounty placed on their heads (see help bounty). The house is purely a house of assassins. There is no "honor", no "defense of magic" or the "laws" and there is no mercy. The House of Ancient operates to prove their dominance, to collect the monies that come from destroying a target, and above all, to do these duties without their identity being known.

Who can join the House of Ancient?

Virtually anyone can join the House of Ancient. Those who are of the good path, obviously because of the type of work, are unable to join. Otherwise, any class is considered, and any race is considered. There are no rank requirements to join this House. Agents of all levels and backgrounds are needed.

Those who are known cheaters, or those who are known to give away secrets of the world or are otherwise very talkative will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Applications for the house must be sent to Nebhotep. DO NOT SEND THEM TO ANCIENT. If you do, you are automatically denied entrance to this house. Further, you should not discuss or mention your application to ANYONE. Period. Only Nebhotep and yourself should discuss it. Those who cannot follow this are sure to be refused also.

Further, if any Therans feel or know, that an agent has compromised their identity in some way, it should be immediately reported to Emperor Nebhotep. Not only will he take care of the Agent in question, but he has been known to reward those who provide him with such information.

Also, the House of Ancient is on the lookout for people who would help with their cause. Those who will work with Agents, but not be Agents themselves. Those who would perform tasks for the House, throwing suspicion on themselves to protect the identities of the members, and confuse the general populace. People interested in such a position should contact Emperor Nebhotep, or they may also send a scroll to Ancient.
