    • the 30th - Darren will be playing at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ.For more info, click here.
    October 2000 -

    • 30th - BAD NEWS... Ben Folds Five break up! Click here to see the official statement.
    • "Lonely Christmas Eve," a song written by Ben, is on the Grinch soundtrack.
    • Ben appears on the new Rickie Lee Jones CD, called "It's Like This." Ben sings and plays piano on a cover of Traffic's "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" and sings on "Up a Lazy River."


    August 2000 -
    • Ben is in a Priceline commercial with William Shatner.


    June 2000 -
    • the 13th - The "Me, Myself and Irene" soundtrack was released.
    • The 19th - Ben Folds Five will be on the Late Show with David Letterman. They will be playing "Barrytown," which will be on the soundtrack for "Me, Myself and Irene."
    • July 24th - The band is playing at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC, and the show will be webcast live on the Digital Club Network. (To see this, you will need Macromedia Flash and RealPlayer.)
    • BFF will be playing in Japan at the Summer Sonic 2000 Festival in August. (I don't have any more specific info...sorry.)
    • Robert Sledge will be doing a show or two with Tom Maxwell (from the Squirrel Nut Zippers). See Frank Maynard's page for more details.
    • A song written by Ben will be on the "100 Girls" soundtrack. There is also a BFF song supposed to be on a new movie called "Loser."


    May 2000 -
    • The band is doing some new songs in concert, including ones supposedly called "Emilia Bright," and "The Secret Life of Morgan Davis," "Tell Me What I Did," and "Prince Charming."
    • The band is touring.


    April 2000 -
    • No band news this month.
    • This site has been up and running efficiently for 1 year!


    March 2000 -
    • New US tourdates.
    • BFF is to appear on Trackers. For more info, check out Frank Maynard's site.
    • The 21st - Songs For Summer is out. "Where's Summer B.?" appears on a compilation called "Songs for Summer." This CD is a tribute to the late Summer Brannin, who died of kidney cancer. For more info, check out See Summer Swing Dance.


    February 2000 -
    • No news this month either.


    January 2000 -
    • It is reported that the boys are "taking a break" from touring and everything. Mr. Maynard says that we can expect a new album at the end of this year, AT THE VERY EARLIEST.

    • Check out this month's issue of Keyboard Magazine! BFF is on the front! (Or so I've heard...I've looked high and low and can't find a copy:( )
    • The 12th - Happy 33rd to Ben!
    • Be sure to check out CBC's Radio Two's "Radiosonic" on October 2nd, at 11:00 PM all over CANADA!!!! (12:00 in the Maritimes) Wooooohoooo! (if you can't catch it, go to http://www.radiosonic.com).


    August 1999 -
    • Check out new tour dates, including a show in Vancouver!

    • Check out this month's issue of Modern Drummer! There is quite a long article on Darren!


    July 1999 -
    • The 22nd, 23rd - The twins are born! Louis Frances Folds (11:04 PM, July 22) and Gracie Scott Folds (1:54AM, July 23) have different birthdays. Is it just me, or are these twins named after their parents?
    • The 14th - Q&A questions for Ben must be emailed to Frank Maynard (maynard@oeonline.com) by this date. Ben, after finishing the tour is resting at home, and waiting for the twins to arrive. He will answer some of the interesting questions he will get (but only if you send questions in!) The answers will be posted at the official site, the Magical Armchair, and at Frank Maynard's site. (If you need the address, check my links; I'm feeling too lazy to find the addresses and make more links here...sorry.)

    • the 8th - BFF preforms Army on the Tonight Show With Leno.

    • BFF is featured in the May issues of Spin and cmj New Music!
    • the 3rd - A BFF concert was webcast all over the world from Chicago!
    • the 6th - There was an interview with Ben Folds Five on Muchmusic.
    • the 20th - Ben and Frally married!


    April 1999 -
    • the 27th - TUBORM released.
    • the 28th - BFF was on the Late Show With Letterman.
