Other Geek Rock
Ben Folds Five is a very unique band, but that doesn't mean that if you like them, there is nothing else you will like. These are only a few examples of some other bands you might like.
Jellyfish -
Two albums out - Bellybutton and Spilt Milk. It took me forever to find these CDs, but it was well worth it. This band is very unique and talented. They are now broken up, and I am looking for CD's by the band members. (I'm not having too much luck; that's what you get looking for a pretty obscure band in rural Alberta.) It's too hard to choose a favorite Jellyfish CD.
Weezer -
I love this band. They have a way of mesmerizing me with tunes and lyrics. They seem "human," for lack of a better word. A lot of BFF fans like this band. Weezer is one of my favorite bands. So far, there are two Weezer CD's out (Weezer (Often called 'The Blue Album,' and Pinkerton), and it looks like more coming. My fave Weezer CD: Weezer (The Blue Album)
Barenaked Ladies -
A Canadian band that is as big in the US as in Canada. Way to go, guys! Bnl is another of my fave bands. They've been around since 1990, and have had a few great CD's. My faves: Gordon, Born On A Pirate Ship (Boaps).
Moxy Fruvous -
Another great Canadian band. I really don't know that much about this band, except that they make awesome music. My fave Moxy Cd's: Bargainville, Live Noise.
Spookey Ruben -
Don't get Spookey Ruben if you're expecting something normal. One of the songs on Modes of Transportation : Volume 1 has over a minute of ticking. This is one of my favorite CD's, but is it ever weird!
