Every culture has its own terms, and the Barren Realms culture is no different. Presented below are some of the various terms you might see as you become accustomed to the Barren Realms. These meanings are the most common interpretations, as viewed by Quiver.
Berry Ball -- A common game played as a Quest. Two or more teams are formed, and...well, just come play :) Bbl -- Be back later. BR -- Fairly obvious, this is an abbreviation for the Barren Realms. BTW -- Abbreviation for by the way. Dirs -- Abbreviation for directions. Hero -- These are people who have reached level 51. Their primary job is to help you, the player, out. Of course, as they are very powerful, there are certain rules they have to follow to keep the Barren Realms in balance, so please be courteous to them. HP -- Abbreviation for hit points, or how much damage your character can sustain. Imm, Immortal -- Levels 52-55, these people basically run the mud. Be very courteous to them, and listen if they tell you something. They are usually willing to help, but please don't abuse this. Imp -- Level 55, there are two of these (Oakley and Kiri). These people run the mud, and have the final say on any major decisions about the mud. Do not ask them for help unless it is very important, or there is no other hero or immortal on. If they tell you something, listen to them carefully. J/k -- Abbreviation for just kidding. Kiri -- See Imp. Newbie -- Usually used to denote players at or below level 2, but is often used for anyone new to the mud or a certain level (newbie hero). Oakley -- See Imp. PK -- Player killing...DO NOT KILL OTHER PLAYERS! This is a non player killing mud. Ppl -- Abbreviation for people. PSteal -- Stealing from other players. This ranks with PK...no pk or pstealing on the Barren Realms. Quest -- Usually good and fun, Barren Realms quests are a chance to meet more people, have fun, and possibly gain good equipment or items. Also, a special Quest channel has been implemented. To access this, type the @ character in front of what you wish to say. Scroll -- Related to how fast the words on the screen move. Spam -- Either repeatedly doing something, or making it so that it is hard for others to play. (Repeated tells, chats, etc.) Tank -- Tank, or tanker, is used to denote the one who takes the first attack in a group. TNL -- Abbreviation for to next level. (How much xp tnl?) XP -- Abbreviation for experience points.
