Based on our evidence from our research project, numerous programs have been implemented at Hoover High school to assist students in higher education. The programs we have researched include Synergy, AVID, Tutoring, GATE, AP classes, Upward Bound, CAL SOAP, Talent Search, and Gear Up. All of these programs have proven to be useful and necessary, however we have found a disconnection between the school and the students parent’s knowledge of the programs. We also found a lack of centralized communication among all programs available to assist students and the need for more SAT preparation. Our means of gathering data involved faculty interviews and student surveys. The majority of our research population included sophomores and juniors and one senior and one freshman. We conducted all student research through student Questionnaires.
