Dear Mr. Nielson: As was the case last year, I am again writing you to express the strength of my convictions with respect to the character and potential of Tim Leon. I am proud to count Tim among the group of people I consider to be my friends. I am aware of the circumstances and events that led to his incarceration. Moreover, I have had the privilege of knowing Tim both before and after the crime for which he is now paying his price to society. As such, I know Tim to be a good and caring human being; a human being who acknowledges the mistake of his actions. Tim is truly remorseful for his deeds and has sought to improve both himself and the people he has come in contact during the term of his incarceration. Be assured, I am not a person who freely or frequently writes letters of support or recommendation; I must have a strong and deeply felt belief in the person I am writing on behalf of before I will do so. Such is the case with Tim. I am absolutely convinced that Tim Leon will be a productive member of society upon his release from prison. He will be a credit to his community and will have an immense impact on the people who are fortunate enough to come in contact with him. In my view, his release would not represent a risk or burden to society. I believe that a stable source of income is an important component to Tim's successful transition to life after incarceration. As the owner of Wilshire Paint Company, Inc., I stand ready to give full and careful consideration to retaining Tim as a full-time employee upon his release. Furthermore, I stand ready to continue to offer Tim my friendship and spiritual support. I would greatly appreciate any favorable consideration you can give Tim in this matter. I am confident you will not regret such a decision. Respectfully, Robert T. Ensom |
