A winner says " Let's find out ",
A loser says "Nobody knows".
A winner makes commitments,
A loser makes promises.
A winner says " I'm good, but not as good as I ought to be",
A loser says " I'm not as bad as a lot of other people ".
A winner credits his "good luck" for winning -- even though it wasn't his
good luck,
A loser blames his bad luck for losing -- even though it wasn't his bad
luck.
A winner listens; A loser just waits until it's his turn to talk.
A winner respects those who are superior to him & tries to learn from
them;
A loser resents the superiority of others & tries to find chinks in their
armor.
A winner does more than his job; a loser says " I only work here".
A winner says " I fell "; a loser says " somebody pushed me ".

If a child lives with ACCEPTANCE and FRIENDSHIP, he learns to find LOVE in

I've felt many a times like the poet Robert Burns, who, at the big banquet given in his honour toasting his worldwide fame for his poetry, was scribbling on a piece of paper under the table his poem, "Oh, that I were back with the wee small daisy!" That's probably what every great man feels, every public personality, public servant, politician, world leader, prophet, priest and king!
A lot of time we wish we were " back with the wee small daisy" in obscurity, unknown. But fame, notoriety, criticism, enemies, little privacy or selfish living, no public freedom and often exile and loneliness -- these are usually the cost of top leadership!
Power undirected by high purpose spells calamity; and high purpose by
itself is utterly useless if the power to put it into effect is
lacking.
Theodore Roosevelt.
The measure of man is what he does with power. Pittacus (650-569 B.C.)
Power is not of itself good or bad but becomes what it's holder makes it. Held by a Churchill it might be good; by a Hitler, bad.
A good leader in any field doesn't panic under pressure and spread a shockwave through his people. The tougher the going gets, the calmer he becomes, the more determined to find a sensible answer to the situation and make it work.
A leader can best improve the efficiency of his followers by improving himself. Or, as one author puts it, " The man who makes himself better makes everyone he comes into contact with better as well."
The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men the conviction and the will to carry on.
To command is to serve, nothing more and nothing less.
Definition of an executive: A man in any organization who has the courage to dream, the ability to organise, and the strength to execute.
Soren Kierkegaard: People almost never make use of the freedom they have, for example, freedom of thought; by way of compensating, they demand freedom of expression instead.
To err is human; to forgive, infrequent.
If you put the cart before the horse, you will have trouble finding the reins.
Absence makes the heart go wander.
Books are the true levellers. They give to all who will faithfully use them, the society, the spiritual presence of the best and greatest of our race.
The French Impressionist. Pierre Auguste Renoir, Told his son Jean that life beyond the grave didn't much interest him. "We'll see about that afterward. As a dead man, I may be able to enjoy death. As long as i'm still alive I intend to enjoy life."
Don't be misled into believing that somehow the world owes you a living. The boy who believes that his parents, or the government, or anyone else owes him his livelihood and that he can collect it without labour will wake up one day and find himself working for another boy who did not have that belief.
We protest against unjust criticism, but we accept unearned applause.
When you are in one place and long to be in another, it isn't as simple as taking a boat. You don't really long for another country. You long for something in yourself that you don't have, or haven't been able to find.
Boris Pasternak in Doctor Zhivago:
Oh, how one wishes sometimes to escape from the meaningless
dullness of human eloquence, from all those sublime phrases, to
take refuge in nature, so inarticulate.
D.L.Stewart: Courage is bringing a child into the world, feeding him and clothing him, caring for him and worrying about him, disciplining him and educating him, preparing him to the best of your ability for the life he's going to lead. And then letting him live it !
The mirror tells only the fact, never the poetry.
W.C.Fields: If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then give up. There's no use in being a damn fool about it.
A great lie is like a great fish on dry land: it may fret and fling and make a frightful bother, but it cannot hurt you. You have only to keep still, and it will die of itself.
As you go through life you're going to have many opportunities to keep your mouth shut. Take advantage of all of them.
Mark Twain: Be careful about reading health books. You might die of a misprint.
Writer Isabel Moore: Life is a one way street. No matter how many detours you take, none of them leads back. Once you know and accept that, life becomes much simpler. Because then you know you must do the best you can with what you have and what you are and what you have become.
Chinese proverb: A great fortune depends on luck, a small one on diligence.
The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
were toiling upward in the night.
The problem with trying to halt the growth of bureaucracy is this: First you have to appoint a commission to study the problem. The commission will then hire a staff. The staff will hire assistants. The assistants will then ...........
What upsets me is not that you lied to me, but that from now on I can no longer believe you.
Sydney J. Harris: The most important thing in an argument, next to being right, is to leave an escape hatch for your opponent, so that he can gracefully swing over to your side without too much apparent loss of face.
Very often a change of Self is needed more than a change of Scene.
Sometimes the child in one behaves a certain way and the rest of oneself follows behind, slowly shaking its head.
Living in the lap of luxury isn't bad, except you never know when luxury is going to stand up.
Maturity is the stage of life when you don't see eye to eye but can walk arm in arm.
The great tragedies of history occur not when right confronts wrong, but when two rights confront each other.
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.
Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer.
Happiness, I have discovered, is nearly always a rebound from hard work.
Good humour may be said to be one of the best articles of dress one can

Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school.
These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before your eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and paint and sing and dance and play and work everyday some.
Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch for
traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the
little seed in the plastic cup. The roots go down and the plant go up and
nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hampsters and white mice and the little seed in the plastic
cup - they all die. So do we.
And then remember the book about Dick and Jane and the first word you
learned, the biggest word of all: LOOK. Everything you need to know is in
there somewhere. The golden rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and
politics and sane living.
Think of what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world -
had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with
our blankets for a nap. Or if we have a basic policy in our nation and
other nations to always put things back where we found them and clean up
our own
messes. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out
into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.
Stand before me on the sign of infinity, all you of the Earth.
With the granting of the law of Provenation comes the application of
change.
I will give you the key.
And with this knowledge, please realise, comes the responsibility of
sharing it.
I will show you, the way is very simple.
Throughout the universe, there is order.
In the movement of the planets,
In nature,
And in the functioning of the human mind.
A mind that is in it's natural state of order is in harmony with the
Universe,
And such a mind is timeless.
You life is an expression of your mind.
You are a creator of your own universe.
For as a human being you are *free to WILL* whatever state of being you
desire,
Through the use of your thoughts and words.
There is great power there.
Can be a blessing - or a curse!
Entirely up to you.
For the quality of your life is brought about by the quality of your
thinking.
THINK ABOUT THAT.
Thoughts produce actions.
Look at what you are thinking.
See the pettiness and the envy and the greed and the fear,
And the other attitudes that cause you pain and discomfort.
Realise that the *one thing* you have absolute control over is
*your attitude*.
See the effect that it has on those around you.
For each life is linked to all life,
And your words carry with them chain reactions like a stone that is thrown
into a pond.
If your thinking is in order your words will flow directly from the
heart,
creating ripples of love.
If you truly want to change your world, my friends, you must change your
thinking.
Reason is your greatest tool, it creates an atmosphere of understanding
Which leads to caring, which is LOVE.
Choose your words with care. Go forth - with LOVE.
